In this video I look at how I use the trigger output on the Behringer RD-8 to create evolving basslines on the Roland TB03
Trigger 1 is the Cowbell
Trigger 2 is the Clap

You can use the RD-8 random and probability features to give some variety to the triggers as well. I think in later firmware updates you can set which drum goes out to each trigger output. But I haven't tried that myself.

Cool video mate. What happens to the trigger signal if you use the repeater on the RD8, does it repeat the base line too?

Hey, pretty cool. I've been trying to trigger the TB-03 from the CV outs of a AKAI MPC One, and so far - no luck. Any ideas how to do this anyone? I tried changing the CV output voltage from 0.01 to 5V and still nothing.

Thankyou. For some reason I always thought Behringer trigger outs never worked with Roland gear. Ta dude. Always loved triggering since 1982 with a Drumatiix TR-606 & SH-101.

I haven't tried yet, but I bet the RD-6 2 trigger out (LT and HT) just work the same ?

and you use note repeat on the CB channel to make 303 fills... and add swing on the rd8... to make the 303 swing!

Thank u, nobody explains this stuff, the manuals are often bad. I grew up with midi, so i dont understand: When and why should i use Trigger Out instead of Midi, if the synth has a Midi IN port? Thnx

If you've got midi on your hardware and you justvwant to sync them together to start and stop etc then midi is best option for that. I generally use the trigger out thing if I want to try and create something different byvstepping through a sequence differently with different rhythms etc.

I'm having trouble connecting to my Behringer TD 3 using trigger out 3 to sync in on the TD 3 what should my sync modes be set too any help would be appreciated

Poor Microbrutey. Anyway, they are built like tanks and can take the measly weight of a Roland Boutique. Microbrute, fantastic little synths. I have 2. Wish they had midi outs.
