I like the vent-mounted Techmatte better than the lower mount you have off to the side. It's better not to look so far away from the road.

Does the circular mount you use near the glovebox area work with the extended leather option? Or will it not really stick to leather? Thanks!

I like the idea of putting the metal plate on the inside of the case , as then I can still wirelessly charge my iPhone (I will still need to take the case off tho because of the metal plate) also is there any chance of scratching the back of the iPhone using this method? Thank you

For the vertical mount that you use, would the adhesive leave any marks when you remove it?

Yo Tommy check out the mag back case; it’s mount point is like 3/4” wide and you can barely see it.

Tom how much of a gap does this leave? That’s my only hesitation versus going with 3M or vent installed mount on left side of the steering wheel.

Thanks for all your fun videos! Question: I got the vertical one but the 3M adhesive does not stick to the same spot you are using (I’ve got the same car as you 👍). It’s sticks fine to the carbon fiber portion but not the leather. Have you attached the 3M to leather? Any tips or tricks? Thanks again

Payam M I don’t have leather there. My pillar is plastic. But to attach it to leather simply use a blow dryer to heat up the glue and that should do the trick

@@TommyLGarage I tried heating the 3M pad, and it refuses to stick to the leather. Maybe because my garage is -20 degrees right now :-)

Tommy L Garage I gave up! Refused to stick. Ended up using my left driver side vent and bought a magnetic mount with wireless charging. Routed the cable from lighter around my steering wheel and it’s invisible. My center is all open now and my phone is on my left side. I’m happy :)

Rennline ExactFit Magnetic Phone Mount BMW F30 3-Series. I've had all the ones that you have and I absolutely love this one. I even went and bought a wireless fast charge mount and switched out the mounting surface with it for wireless charging

Is that pillar textured in your car? I found the round mount (vest vertical one) would not stick.

Kuda, out of Texas, console mounts are the best. Look totally OEM. I am on my 3rd unit for my third car. Great product, terrible website. They didn’t have mocha leather match for my bmw model. Called and they built it for me. I think it took 7-8 days. They have many phone specific mounts although I have always used the multi-mount holder since I may upgrade my phone. Also makes it useable for anyone else that drives the car with a different phone.

You have to glue these mounts on your dash?! What happens when you try and take the mount off? I would have guessed it's 3m double sided tape. Given the angle it would be mounted plus the weight of the phone...on a hot summer day would it fall off?

Tommy L Garage we in europe (switzerland) have small 250ml red bull or coke cans, and it didnt fit well in the big cupholder. i think, you know what i mean if i accelerate or brake the car and the can tip... (sorry for my english 😅)
