Palm Springs has the most restrictive rules. You have to buy a license yearly $944. Give them a monthly tabulation of the money you made (Airbnb) so they can charge their transient tax. They do a walk thru yearly. The city council has put more restrictions recently. My friend who didn’t know about the license as she was new just got fined $5000 & banned indefinitely. They say no warning as well. Cut & dry. It’s all there if you Google it.

They have put SO many restrictions on rentals, yes but it was getting out of hand and now our prices are completely unreasonable. The average buyer can’t afford PS anymore and that’s sad. Watch my video on STRs update I posted recently.

They cracked down on this crazy practice. Only 20% of property can be AirB and B's now. they were turning entire neighborhoods into noisy, miserable temp housing/hotels, basically.

Yes, they have. It was getting out of control so now the city is cracking down on them as they should be. However not sure I agree with the limits on contract stays per year.

@@BrandyValentineRealEstate I am in favor in as few disruptions to a neighborhood as possible. I mean, would you want to buy a home and find out you're next to a noisy Air B and B with people coming and going constantly? When you purchase a home in a neighborhood and not on a main street actually *next* to a real hotel, you expect a certain amount of peace and quiet.
