Abhijit Iyer-Mitra discusses vaccine embargo against India by Biden administration and its implications on Indo-US relations. For more content: patreon.com/AbhinavPrakash?ut...
I don't know how many of you remember. When we made our last nuclear test it was France who openly supported India by saying "....well its their security that is their business..." it was business as usual with France.
@@DS-ux9ld I know France did test. But before test they went public and US on a very soft tone said "it would be better if France abstain from test". France literally showed middle finger. China is repressing Uyghur Muslims but criticized India on Kashmir issue. When US bombed left, right & center Iraq it was ok, but after Mumbai blast US then pres Bush junior warned India not to carry out attacks on Pakistan... There r n-number of examples. At least France was not a hypocrite.
A true patriot, he's more arrogant and ignorant..... he literally said of indians who voted for Democrats, that he hopes something happens to them during this current covid 19 outbreak.
@@Aadi_Varaah here comes South indians, with burns... Did you support that American kamla harris? Were you hoping she would give you american citizenship? Lmao.
I really love Abhijit. He is truly addictive. Someone brutally honest.... But at the same time, one, who comes with a lot of wonderful ideas. Let AIM live long. He needs to give up smoking. I want the government to listen to his suggestions and apply them. I am sure, they will lead us to success. Vel vel vetri vel🙏🙏😄😄
@@Kem____paalty16 so, you conveniently bought AIM's argument of having incompetent people in bureaucracy but forgot the latter part of it where he said the public representatives we send to the parliament are equally incompetent. How 'bout that?
I am in USA & its killing me seeing my country suffering.. But we will overcome this & never forget treachery of USA..I will comeback to India & serve my country in whatever capacity I can
The lesson for India from what is happening to us now is to be self reliant or "aatmanirahbar" just like the French whether we like it or not as no one is going to save our backs during times of crisis. It's now or never.

@Gunne_r r yeah because the right wing doesn’t have a global ecosystem promoting and financing such shows like the left. I can tolerate the ads considering the honourable work these guys are doing
What a guy Abhijit is. Not only is he a brilliant thinker, but also a very kind man it seems. The way he said we shouldnt lose hope, I actually feel better.
@Anthati Srisailam during the HIV virus out break in around the 60s 70s us pharmaceutical wer selling drugs at the rate of 12000 USD per person per month cipla came out with generic medicines at the cost of 2 usd a day per person. These us pharmaceuticals 5hen pressed the world governments on the name of their intellectual property rights and got everyone to ban the use of generic medicines especially the ones made by cipla. what cipla did next was un expected and truelly geniois they reduced the cost of their medicines from 2 usd per day per person to 1 usd per day per person. As a result everyone (starting with the European Union) realised that all us pharmaceuticals are putting profits over public health and this marked the beginning of the downfall of all us pharmaceuticals. Because of the effects of Dr. Yusuf Hamied and his coworkers india became a major pharmaceutical hub. and now I can kind of see the history repeating.
I love Abhijeet. He is so lovingly blunt, and clear in his mind, it's a pleasure to listen to him. I mean he appears almost child like innocent when he speaks absolutely bluntly.
I really appreciate this quality about Abhijit! Whenever everyone is going gaga he points to the issues & criticizes the government on where they are wrong & when everyone's morale is low he shows confidence in the government and in the country! Well played Iyerval!!
The US announcing it's warships transiting India's economic zone follows shortly after the US secretary of defence's visit to India is rather peculiar . The Chinese usually behave like this following a dignitary visit.
Abhijit is spot on explaining every bit of relationship with US under Biden administration. This shows his understanding of Geopolitics under changed environment.
We stand with Modi ji, our only faith is on Modi ji. The responsibility of disruption of supply chain and preparation is only due to babus sitting in health ministry.
Awesome analysis mr Mitra. We should be self reliant that’s the future let’s stop being dependent on some one Russia, China USA .... we are 1.3 bn now we really don’t need any new market or at least we don’t need to kneel if we produce for 1.3 bn no one else can be cost effective like us
Rula dia bhai ne...... itna positivity towards the end!! Very good conversation. It was interesting to know that raw material issue is with Novavax and India has other options to ramp up vaccination. Also, I hear from my family in India (Gujarat) that oxygen plants are being set up very rapidly and being transported.
The embargo is on the adjuvant, filters, bags and vial. The embargo is on Coaxin and Covishield adjuvant as well which is why they can't ramp up. I have read the article.
I always enjoy hearing abhijit sir... But i want you to do same program in hindi as well... So the message from abhijit sir can reach to each and everyone...
when I first find him on some other platform I had an image as an intellectual but now I found that he is awesome and his intellectual capacity Is way ahead of any other intellectual.
Bharat Biotech (BB): 1. It has already released press statement - it is not dependent upon any country for raw material for production of 700 million doses per year. BB has facilities in other countries which are not dependent on USA, which it can utilize to produce more vaccines and ship part of that production for Indian use. 2. Only thing they need is sterilizer of huge capacity if they decide to further increase the production. For that many EU countries are OEMs. Serum Institute of India (SII): 1. SII has everything under the sun that is required for production of Covishield vaccines. Astrazenica, its partner for the production of Covishield is a UK based company (UK arm of astrazenica). Boris Johnson has already assured all help. So no problem here too. 2. Only thing they need is sterilizer of huge capacity if they decide to further increase the production four fold of the current production rate. For that many EU countries are OEMs. However SII needs some "special types of filters" (filters used for viral partical filteration) to produce novovax vaccine candidate - SII has signed contract with them - for which it is dependent on USA. Biological E, Shantha Biotech, Cadilla, Zudus and other vaccine producing companies: GoI at any point of time can ask it to start Covaxin production. Only thing is it will take 3 months to roll out first doses as the "Vaccine Production Cycle" is of 86 days approximately. There are other vaccine makers who are in line for production of vaccines under "Contract Manufacturing" or "Transfer of Technology" under the directions of GoI, if need be. At the end: GoI along with SII and BB are sitting on a stock of around 60-80 crore doses of vaccines.
People who can afford will buy. Even private companies can get their people vaccinated as they can show this as CSR contribution. This reduces the load on state governments and central government.
it seems US is looking something from India, trying to pressurize the India for negotiating lets see how India officials tackle this. us looking at political matter or looking for economic matter? demanding not to buy S400 from Russia?
