It would also makes sense why they didint follow up on the first one, since if they did bot hosters may have pulled some bots out to make training more difficult. @@gapquation8577 Yeah, you will... because I doubt they are willing to put in an effort to continuesly maintain TF2 outside of some few updates here and there, and security issues. What is more likely is they are going to drop even more support for TF2. This was an issue the community could've solved... via Community Servers... no one has to use the matchmaking system... Valve has expressed how much effort they are willing to do, and my guess is they did this to placate ya'll complaining. There are no long term solutions to botting and cheating... and even if you wouldn't mind, turning off the item server would essentially kill the game right then and there, but the item servers are the primary reason for botting... and if they don't have the item server, they don't need the matchmade servers... and then people would complain about that. I am saying here, be very careful what you wish for... be very careful of how you handle this situation... you might get the opposite of what you want.

Well, you can at least hope a number of cheaters decide bot hosting has become too much a hassle for them after each ban wave and they stop doing it forever. After so many years I still fail to understand what motivation those people have to do what they do, but the well is going to dry up eventually.

As nice as it would be, no, that was not everyone’s goal. Aside from bots, tf2 was left in a pretty great state. There’s some bugs here and there, there’s a few somewhat unbalanced weapons, but nothing is game breaking. It’s fine as it is. If the game stays playable in its current state forever, I will be happy.
