After falling in love with my small pair of Vamplier screw extraction pliers, I immediately ordered the biggest pair Vamplier makes...the Pro. The Vampire Pro is amazing! In my immediate tests, they pulled free all test screws, and snapped apart those screws unable to turn. Can't get any stronger than that.

I've wanted some Vampliers ever since the first time I saw them! I think it was on Bearded Seabees channel. Adam Savage says his favorite pliers are the Engineer Pliers. I will have a pair (Someday)! 🔨👍😁👍🔧

I just used the Vamp Pro pliers to remove a stripped tore bolt that was locktited into a brake disk on a $8k mountain bike. My only other option was to drill it out, but that's risky on a $200 hub. And you cannot leave out a bolt or the heat will warp it. So my Vampier Pros just paid for themselves.

All i ever did with my fully loaded snap on tollbox with every single wrench imaginable including these Vampliers was adjust a bicycle seat snd build a $7 bird house. I will still find another tool i "need" wait for it..

Just arrived home to find my 9inch vampier Linesman waiting for me. I’ll let you know how they are Doc. They are the big brother of those ones, and as a Journeyman Electrician by trade, it means they are about to be christened tomorrow. What fun!

pro tip.... buy engineer instead (same product cheaper price) also.... the ones you have are great but i find the locking pliers and slip joint ones the most useful. the water pump style ones are really great too
@robertweir9034
@robertweir9034 Год назад
And they are cheaper under the ‘Engineer’ brand. Handles are green not red. Now try and get it taken care of under warranty.
@awesomeaxel1

That lock mechanism is actually Spyderco's proprietary lock design, and its actually much stronger than a liner lock. Being located in the spine of the handle scale allows an extended portion of the liner to be wedged between a small cutout in the tang of the blade and the stop pin... It's called a compression lock.

The biggest problem with Snap On is their insanely inflated price. The tools are generally good quality, but I'm not paying that premium for the name when something like this preforms just as well or even better.

I've been using the Engineer version as my main pliers doing electrical work for about 4 months. They're great, but the t shaped handles did nothing to prevent the handle scales from sliding off. I had to use E6000 to get them to stay on.

Would be great to see these compared against the Knipex TwinGrips for this purpose instead of (or in addition to) the linesman, SnapOn, etc.

My only gripe with Vessell,Vampliers and others, is that the steel used is too soft or not hardened properly. I’m looking at the 3Peaks Japan pliers.

The Wolf Spider is a scandi ground knife and the locking system is a compression system hope that helps

Imagine these pliers with a force multiplier like bolt cutters have.
@lastbesttool
@lastbesttool 3 года назад
Interesting idea. However, if you can snap a screw with their current design, where would more force go? However, anything larger would benefit from a greater grab force.

I have a chrome locking 3/8", 15" I think. My only issue is it doesn't sound as pleasant as a snap-on, maybe I need to use it more. Otherwise agreed I like the grip, the locking mechanism, and the longer handle length than snap-on offers.

How about high-leverage screw extraction pliers? Sometimes the screw extractor pliers slip, but if they were high-leverage too, they would grab even better.

Would these work for tying tie wire on rebar work?
@lastbesttool
@lastbesttool 3 года назад
They would work about as well as any small lineman plier I suspect. The screw grip hole in the middle might cause more slippage than concentrating an advantage when tying wire. Just all a guess though.

I own and enjoy using a number of different Spyderco knives, but that one doesn't tempt me at all. Sharp corners on both ends of the handle and impossible for left-handers to use. I'll pass.
@konnan216
@konnan216 2 года назад
You can buy a piece that attaches to the compression lock so left handers can use them. The only left handed compression lock you can buy is basically a pm2 or 3 in s30v. I am also left handed btw.

Considering the use of a screwdriver for a pry bar is an attitude for home workshops that don't use tools daily for a living. I would bet a years pay that at least 98% of mechanics have screwdrivers dedicated to prying and chiseling. Also sockets used as drivers along with wrenches and sockets ground to fit a purpose. When you have to get a job done you use whatever it takes especially when your away from the shop and you run into non textbook situations which seems like the only thing I get anymore. Rust, corrosion and previous handy work are just some of the culprits that create these situations.
