@TheFamousMockingbird
@TheFamousMockingbird 8 дней назад
well it depends on how the takes are applied, like for example most are dumb as fuck because they stan china for some reason, this i think has to do with what debord called the spectacle and obsession with imagery and representation instead of being, so they see china and their opinion is informed by the representation of what they think china signals to other people not the actual structure of it, because if you just look at the country its obviously not communist or left wing, its a unique place on the left right line because it doesnt fall into it because left-right split is very much a european thing that came from the french revolution. Asian countries have different political systems and histories. It is very hard for me to ever be convinced that a left wing country can be authoritarian due to the fact that authoritarians is very very anti left wing politcs. remember the leftist all these people actually are influenced by is lenin, not marx, and lenin was fundamentally a right wing deviation of marxist philosophy and his ideology was structured in a way that the only thing that could come out of it was what you had with stalinism in the massive police state etc via hia vanguard party. All the countries that became communist in the 20th century are far more influenced by lenin than they are marx, in china they straight arrest ACTUAL marxists. Like the amount of letists who i see justify imperialism by other countries with similar goals and aspirations as america is befuddling, it is very very simple that if you are against imperialism, you are against any invading force, end of it. That doesnt mean you have to support sending weapons and shit because some people are legitimate pacificists as a part of their moral beliefs and reject all violence, but even if you don't agree with sending weapons you at least can understand who is the moral right and if you cant do that then by god you dont have to blame america and nato for the entire thing, its absurd. It makes no sense either because literally invading ukraine just makes russia have zero buffer with nato states. like it doesnt make sense to try and conqur and control a country that borders like 7 NATO countries and say "its because nato is getting too close, they sat down two seats away rom me so i moved to the seat next to them"

For Azov - it used to be an FC? (football club, I think that's the English term), and Eastern Europe, Balkan FC's tend to be nazi organizations, often with a lot of corrupt money behind them, from soccer gambling and general soccer corruption. So when the things in 2012-2014 happened, Azov became kind of a private military - nazis, with mafia money buying them guns. Azov being nazis is what prevented the US from sending aid to Ukraine until 2015, when some laws around supporting extremists were changed. I think when Zelensky was elected, Azov was taken into the military, which meant they could no longer do whatever they want. Many of the nazis were purged or left on their own finding they have to follow the law now, and the remaining people were just... military guys now. Some time after it was integrated in the army, Azov underwent a serious screening process, cuz apparently not everyone in it was even a Ukrainian citizen. A lot of people were removed, Azov's leaders were changed to people from the actual military, not from the regiment itself. All that seems to be left is the wolfsangel, but none of their actions seem to indicate any issues. The people purged from them founded a bunch of organizations. As they are rooted in an ex-USSR FC, they have undeniable nazi roots, but it seems they were deeply reformed, and all that's left is some symbol which... they are at a war, they can look at symbols later.

It seems like, if Azov are not sees, then the staggering amount of them who have died fighting Russians would have required them to recruit more members, or have them assigned etc, and any hard core of ideologically motivated members would have been displaced (to a greater or lesser extent) by members who's primary concern is defending Ukraine from an invasion. I'm not trying to downplay the harm they could cause if they are somehow a unified far right force, it's just that I find the idea they have maintained this status, even if it was present to begin with, (which is possible, it's a wacky world we live in) to be improbable. What I don't get is how a lot of people who stay focused on Azov seem to neglect mentioning that the military invasion and occupation of Ukraine is an overly imperialist action, so... you know there are far right/ not see types who are fighting on the Russian side, who are tickled to have the opportunity to go invade somewhere, so if both of these are present on the same battlefield, and they both contain not see elements, them them fighting against each other is.... not the worst of all possible outcomes right? So what I'm about to say has almost nothing to do with the knives that have actual functional issues like bad heat treats or the Burr that wouldn't go away and I'm only talking about the blemish knives with fit and finish issues. But I think the answer could lie somewhere in the middle of what you're upset about and what's fair for the maker. I am an amatuer to intermediate maker at best. I would have to take a look at those knives up close to see what the fit and finish issues are. But from what I've seen from other people who purchased handmade knives but are also involved with buying knives from bigger brands, some of them have unrealistic expectations. They are used to buying a USA made fix blade from a bigger company like Tops, or when SOG decides to release a USA made product. And usually for like 250 bucks. Their CNC Machinery gives them an easy, Baseline level of fit and finish that is just hard to compete with from an Indie maker. I obsess over every single Last Detail on my knives but sometimes things arent super duper symmetrical, sometimes the plunge grinds arent 100% straight, sometimes there might be a couple little marks on the blade that would take hours to sand out. Dings on the handle and stuff like that are super easy to avoid of course, same with epoxy all over the handle. Like I said at the beginning, I would have to inspect it and see exactly what it looks like. But if you're paying like $225 for a handmade knife, I believe that there is some trade-off for lowering the expectations a bit on the fit and finish in exchange for the trade-off of having a rock solid heat treat and a bit of a personal touch. If it's a knife from someone is a one man operation with mostly hand tools. I know tons and tons of makers who have perfect fit and finish but their knives usually are at least $300 to $500 minimum, and some more than that. And then their reactions should not be anger. There has been a case where I didn't get all of the D card off of The Edge before I sharpened it in the knife went dull fast and I made it right and didn't get upset. So blocking you or ignoring you isn't the correct answer either

J.R.R. Tolkien designed his depiction of Orcs to show the destructive hideousness of industrialised warfare as Sauron's army ravaged Middle Earth to fuel their war and establish dominion of the dark lord. This is reinforced by the fact that LOTR was inspired by Tolkien's experience during WW1. Then we also have Orks in Warhammer 40k which take that industrialised warfare and crank it up to 11 in a satirical fashion. There's a good reason why Orcs are typically associated with war, Vaush is talking bollocks when he thinks "Orc" is a racial slur towards Russians. Then again we're talking about the same guy who constantly whined about loli being CP then he got caught leaking his own loli folder on his computer.

Can we get Kendrick Lamar to drop a diss track about Vaush's tax folder so he'll finally go away and stop being a stain on the left? 30:38 'You've got Ukrainian Nazis who all think the Russians are Jewish' I'd love to know what his source is for this, besides his butt. Yes, antisemitism is prevalent in Ukraine and Russia - dude needs look up what the Pale of Settlement was (spoiler: it only stopped being a thing when the last Tsar got the yeet.) But that's not why this war is being fought so he's not actually making any kind of point here. Any (weak) point he _might_ have had, he immediately undermines by going 'eh, you're both the same anyways, now get back to killing each other.' Dude just needs to stop talking. I don't agree with the idea of dehumanizing Russian people in general. I'm not going to berate a Ukrainian soldier for taking the life of a Russian soldier. Ukrainians have the right to defend their lives and that of their loved ones. But saying that people can just do a revolution is incredibly smug. We don't know the conditions under which Russians citizens are living in and have to live in every day.

It is strange to see the inconstintancy most people have. To mee the same principles that guide me to support Ukraine, the same nuanced way of looking at conflicts that lead me to understand and contextualise the existence of Azov, are the same that lead me to support Palestine and lead me to not really care how bad Hamas is. Hamas and Azov are really not that different from each other. I would say Hamas is more extreme right now, but that makes sense given the conditions. But somehow Leftist can't understand why Azov has support but when talking about palistine, they do understand why being under attack might lead people to support extreme right-wing militants. Leftists will have the correct observation that Hams gains more support when Israel bombs the shit out of Palestinians. Then when its time to talk about Ukrain, they say "Ukraine has corruption, Azov are bad and Nato interference" this is the same as a zionist saying "No democracy in gaza, Hamas bad, but Iran is interfering". These are the same terrible arguments to justify an injust war. The reverse is true for liberals, they will correctly call out the pro-russia arguments in the case of Ukraine war, but then turn around and make the zionist arguments in the case of the Gaza war. The only consistent people on this are the right wingers who seem to be consistently on the wrong side of the issue.

They're actually pretty different. You see, in 2015 Russia was threatening a full scale invasion of Mariupol, but gave up and settled for a rocket attack that hit residential areas. Azov was one of the units tasked with protecting the city of Mariupol, so they reached hero status among the populace (there's even videos of 2022 Mariupol refugees being interviewed and praising Azov for protecting them in the recent conflict). Hamas does the rocket attacks on civilians and then endangers their own people. Azov takes all the bad publicity for doing a bunch of stuff that's only been reported by Russian media (read: stuff that never even happened) and then puts their lives on the line to protect their country. Hamas does stunts to piss of Israel and when heat comes their way they hide under civilians to then cry crocodile tears for international sympathy. It's actually cartoonish how they act the polar opposite way.

@@ChucksSEADnDEAD Hamas are a bunch of assholes that only make things worse. But you have to consider that the circumstances are quite different. People tend to behave predictably depending on their circumstances. Hamas has a lot fewer reasorces and have fewer options. Azov got US and EU grade weapons and were likely better equipped than the russians. Meanwhile Hamas stands no chance at fighting Israel head-on. Hamas hides underneath civilians because there is literally no other option. Even if Hamas wanted to avoid hiding behind civilians (which they don't), its not possible, Gaza is to densely populated.

Ukraine has a very strong history of Nazi sympathizers. It is reductive to look at many European nations as either "pro" or "anti" nazi during WW2 - for example Romania and Hungary and Moldova were on both sides of the war at different times

7 million of Ukrainian fought against nazi Germany. 40k for nazi Germany. To call that “strong history of sympathy” is weird. You would not say the same about Russia, yet ROA had 800k members

Being in eastern europe during WW2 is being in-between a rock and a hard place. There was no good decisions to be made during that time, only suffering and getting genocided and fucked by 2 more powerful nations. Being a nazi collaborator on the eastern front is nowhere near the same as being a collaborator on the western occupied countries. People should not glorify Bandera, it is just a losing argument to complain endlessly about him as a way to make Ukraine look bad.

My intuition is it’s generally not helpful and I feel distasteful when I see say westerners go on about Russians being orcs - but in terms of Ukraine I a) don’t think its wrong, similar to the arguments in the vid and b) there’s no stopping a deep hatred of Russia there now for generations and that’s on Russia
