@@Rien1782 Because Grog being too dumb to know it was Vax was his only way out, and they realized, "Yup... even if it wasn't Vax, Grog _would_ still assume it was Vax."
@@Rien1782 It wasn’t a reference, they just found it funny as a response. Mostly because it’s so obvious that Vax is the one who would do it that even Grog with his low intelligent could guess.
I love that Taliesin Jaffe, Lord of Mayhem, was the first person to realise what Liam was planning, followed by the Crown Prince of Chaos himself, Sam Riegel. Also Travis' "half... a beard...?" somehow conveys more rage in three words than he's conveyed in entire battles.
Laura going full Wifey and saying fuck Rp'ing and going after Liam is the best lol. I swear if Grog would have noticed, Laura would say fuck it and meta play the shit out of this and hit her brother with the broom as well lol.
Muhammad Abdlla I would normally agree with you but Laura is out of character and Laura and Liam argue like in general cuz Travis played a video of them arguing over game of thrones and lmfaoo they really do act like siblings it’s hilarious
Honestly, even Grog should know who did that. Knowing their history (at least during the stream), I don't think anybody else in the group had pranked each other in such a way.
I think the best part of this is the tone of Matts voice when he says 'you just broke a mechanical pencil'. Also the tone in wich he said 'half a beard'. He did feel sorry for him there. That was eeevil. SO evil.
3:20 Thing is, Travis is absolutely right. Even if Grog had the mental aptitude to deduce that Vax was the only member of VM who could properly stealth barber someone, he would absolutely go after his prank nemesis for this regardless of the actual culprit.
Jexxer For the show I want this to happen. After attuning to the dwarven thrower, he grows a beard and excitedly tell everyone in the group. We cut to Vax growing a mischievous look before exclaiming to Grog that “this is cause for celebration and for being there for each other, I’ll buy the drinks”. Drinking montage ensues as it finally comes to full night and... someone sneaking around. It’s Vax with a Cheshire grin, lathering cream, and his knife. We hear him chuckle as it fades out. Cut to morning (stereotypical cartoon crack of dawn music) we see the back of Grog (or at least mostly hidden) he yawns, stretches, and puts his hand to his face before the music cuts abruptly and he starts to tremble. Then it cuts to someone else, (either an NPC or a member of VM who isn’t Vax) and with a shaking frame the earth shattering roar of “VAAAAAAAX!!”

So sad that it wasn't. I was craving beardy Grog so hard through the entire season. That and I needed to see Grog react in universe just like Travis did here. Just annihilating something with that same cool calm rage that is so intense he doesn't even scream or shout. Just pure destroy.
@@justaghostinthesea Well, since they didn't really have time to make the beard just gradually appear over a dozen episodes, I think they way they handled it went well.
When I started this, I knew Grog would eventually get a beard. At first it was frustrating at how slow Matt would allow the beard to grow, and then Liam pulled this stunt! I never would have guessed such a small physical detail, a beard, would get such a epic tale.
I miss these older episodes. Watching them was my first experience with D&D, and now that it's such a big part of my life, I'll always be grateful for the feelings of nerdy excitement that came from those first story arcs.
My favorite part of this entire exchange is a solid 15-30 seconds after this clip ends when Laura, while calling Liam terrible, starts laughing with Liam about the whole ordeal 😂.
I watched this specific clip when I had just started watching cr, at the beginning of season 2. My friend who introduced me told me they loved campaign 1 so I looked up some vids. I started watching the older eps and I just watched this one today!
To think, they parallel partially in campaign 2, between Yasha and Caleb. It wasn’t a prank, but a shave using Yasha’s great sword on Caleb, still funny as heck.
"Let's just say I assume" Such a genuinely great reply to the rogue shenanigary. No one likes when the rogue gets away with shit in party. Like, everyone has the phase, it's the rpg equivalent of growing pains. But still, no one likes the 'but there's no way you would know it's me!' when a joke goes too far. It's such a satisfying retort too. No, I don't "know". But let's just say I assume. Some people can bend reality three times a day. I made a lucky guess. Weirder things have happened.
