I think Mighti Jamie is doing such an excellent job in providing facts and an objective view on this ANC scandal. Media has tried for many years to divert us from the culpability of the ANC in destroying VBS.
Its very very true, affidavit must always be treated with caution esoecially in criminal law, it must be tested in court first & have its contents corroborated. Jamie i fully agree with your take on the mainstream media VBS coverage except on one point, that is a donation was made to the EFF not a bribe. Political party funding through donations is a normal thing and there's nothing criminal about receiving a donation
Why only now is it all of a sudden a donation while the EFF have always said they NEVER recent money from VBS. So aether lying now or then. So convenient. Zuma also said he NEVER received money from VBS then when he was caught out it was all of a sudden a bond for Nkandla. The same Nkandla taxppaid millions for. And he still has not started paying for the so-called bond. Nedbank even went to court to freeze his account. If you want to remain blind to liars & looters you will be forever remain ignorant to obvious tactics of a 4 year old can see. We have a problem with the judiciary where the politically connected fail to be brought to court. Now newspapers are better detectives gran the Hawks & better prosecutors than the state prosecutor.

You have started your journalistic career so well. Many of us even lauded you a few weeks back for running an unbiased and uncaptured news-media channel. It unfortunately seems as if the tide have changed. You have now become so unwavered in your defense for the EFF. You are trying by all means to downplay the involvement of the EFF in the VBS saga. Instead of acknowledging that the EFF is a primary focal point in the scandal, you are doing evetything that you can to cover up for them and shift most of the blame to the ANC. As a political analyst in your own right, don't try to be on the side of the left or the right, but be on the side of truth. Failure to do so might lead to a decline of channel subscribers.

You are not dealing with the problem, ANC never disputes that members of ANC are involved in VBS bank 🏦 and they are warned not to put money in this bank account but they undermine the instructions so ANC is fully supporting outcomes. EFF denied that there were any money transfers from VBS for years after Matodzi revealed that they had received money now they disclose that, please don’t waste our time

That money could very well have come from Vele Investments. And he never said in the affidavit that he gave them fraudulent / stolen money from a vbs account.
As we speak right now, with the current banks that you think you trust so much, Rand Manupulation took place under your watch and we saw nothing until it was blown out. White collar crimes knows no colour. It even happened more than you can think with white people that you trust so much.
This story makes me wonder why so many people wanted these 3 parties to form a coalition. No matter how you slice it. ANC/EFF/(Zuma) MK all had part in this scandal.
EFF might have only received a bribe. Paid with looted funds. My big problem is what the bribe was for. To my understanding was for the silence of the EFF. When they knew wrong doing was being done. Who knows how much money could've been saved if the EFF stayed vocal on this matter. Even VBS knew how much influence they had. Sad that people who claim to be fighting for the poor, has a price for their silence.

No friend, you make a fundamental error regarding the presumption of innocence. It is applied in court, not in society. Society has more flexible rules than those in court. That is why people resign mero motu in other countries - the scandal is enough. There is some sense of honour. We are politically allowed to form opinions about guilt based on the facts before us as the public. We do not bow to courts and judges. But yes, person being criminally prosecuted must be presumed innocent in a court. That is a different arena. The same labourious logic you employ is used daily by politicians to escape accountability. The courts do not move fast enough for the needs of society.

The function of investigative journalism? An interesting study to do would be the effectiveness of the freedom of the press that has kept the law system accountable in SA's past compared to party accountability... Is 'misdirection' of media reports not also due to the secrecy of corruption leading a heavier weight on investigative journalism? ... So, is the problem not that the media is increasingly forced to resort to investigattive journalism because of the lack of accountability in politucal parties...? Such a bad reflection on our sort of democracy.... I think more transparency is needed in both political parties and government😊 And in this point in case is it not evident how dangerous government centralization is and how criminals can benefit from the blurred line between party and state because of extraction wealth from political positions as long as they have "fall people" to obstruct the law process?
