I got to the point where she describes the slaughtering of the cow and it broke me, it really did. It’s still going around in my head and I just can’t shake it. That is exactly why I am vegan. What sort of monster can do that to a living being, no matter how desperate you are for a job. I will never understand it. And I will never forget that image as long as I live. If only I could sit my omni friends down and make them listen to that!

I cried when the woman told the story of the white cow. I believe that all that fear and anxiety that the animals feel get transferred into the meat. It comes out in people through all the violence that we inflict on one another and they get their revenge through the cancer, diabetes and heart disease it causes those that eat it.

I’m crying about the chicken part lol. I used to think chickens were stupid and dumb so why shouldn’t I be able to eat them? Now I don’t eat them because there is no reason for me to eat them, they do not appeal to me and they are actually intelligent. All animals are intelligent and they should be respected. Awesome documentary, thanks for sharing. I’m in transition to a vegan diet, first day without dairy and almost 2 months without meat woo!!!

I started going vegetarian when I had such arthritis in my hands and gave up dairy, about 8 years ago. Since then I've gone vegan temporarily from time to time but really got serious about it after my husband developed cancer and I had had my gallbladder surgery. I knew if I could show the good results in my own life, it could potentially help my husband to change, He did have surgery and it was cancer of the Prostate, but he still had elevated blood pressure. He decided to try it may way, I took him off sodas and sugar, processed foods, got him to eat fresh cooked beets everyday, and we just went to the doctor and his blood pressure down to 135/70. But the meds his doctor had him on was amlodipine. That drug has been fingered for causing Prostate Cancer, so I am disgruntled to say the least as he is still suffering from a degree of incontinence. But he's lost weight, he just has trouble giving up the taste though he loves animals. I am more invested, I've done a reading and lots of listening to lectures on RU-vid on the subject of being vegan vs. vegetarian. I am vegan, so no eggs or fish as well as no dairy or meat, poultry too. I feel better. I just wish I had the gumption to go all the way to vegan which I did finally this last year. I've lost a lot of weight but not quickly but then I am 65 and losing too much too fast, is rather a matter of loose skin, but more slowly gives the skin a chance to retract. We visited the farm animal sanctuary. I had just recently bought "Fork Over Knives" the movie and the book. I am hoping that our kids by seeing the dramatic changes in my life will notice as I really am not big on self-control with eating. What I really follow most is the Dr. McDougall approach to quenching appetite with starch. That works for me and keeps me satisfied. Before eating the SAD diet (Standard American Diet), that feeling of satiety did not arrive on time, because when you eat meat and starch, the starch sits there and does not get into the body so long as the meat is not digested. Meanwhile you have now eaten too much. This makes sense and it is my experience. We can be starving while we are making ourselves fat: starving for the right kind of calories and nutrients which are best absorbed from plants and not vitamin pills or supplements. We were designed to eat plants. You get better results when you go with the owner's manual: God's owner's manual, like Genesis chapter 1.

They should show this video in high schools and colleges today, like the Auschwitz holocaust video I had to watch in high school in the 70's. Most of it was easy to watch but I cant imagine anyone being able to eat animal products after listening to the vivid slaughterhouse description by the young female photographer. It was unbelievably heart wrenching. Made me sick. From the dismembering slaughter of the living cow to the description of how it clearly effected the rest of the herd in waiting, it utterly broke me. She made Dominion, Earthling and Lucent look like nothing and I still have nightmare from them. There was no visual, but her words were enough to make me cover my eyes as the tears flowed like Niagara falls. She almost seemed a little oddly detached. Don't know how she could describe such a traumatizing event without shedding a tear. But, people can react to trauma in many different ways. She clearly had empathy for the white cow. She sounded like she was confused as to how the white cow was so afraid, and seemed surprised that she was able to give it some comfort by petting it. Even though the other cows in the waiting area may have been out of view of the actual slaughter, cows have a heightened sense of smell, and perhaps they could have heard the audible sounds as the cow was being slaughtered as well. As she described, these animals clearly are terrified and traumatized and it doesn't take rocket science to tell that these sentient beings do not want to die, or observe their own kind being slaughtered. They are as intelligent as us. This has to stop.

It's all pretty evident, as well as in several other documentaries; in healthy diet books. Why are we unable to renew attitudes? There are serious and difficult situations that occur in our environment: Bullying is one of them and quite complicated, family members move away and this causes concern and sadness. Even in the marital relationship, convincing and following up is almost impossible. Withdrawal from animal protein is very painful and that complicates everything. I did everything to convince them to change, but I gave up. The family members freak out, they lack the will even if they present all the positive and favorable arguments. "THING IS SERIOUS . . ."

Everyday Stories: a woman living on a farm, singing for pigs and hugging chicken. Next story: get activist as young girl. Next story: abused alcoholic goes for marathons. I am vegan for two weeks but this is not mirroring everyday stories in my opinion ;-) The Veteran and the process of being 100% scared of the food and realizing that it will not poison him was pretty real. REALLY REAL! If this should influence non-vegan to become vegan it fails in my opinion. If you want a story and vegans saying „yes I am doing a good thing“ you did it right.

Good work. Yes, plant based here. I don't need to belong to the group that calls themselves "vegan." I want to be healthy, and not hurt the planet or it's animals. I pass the message along by letting others know how I eat, so I have something to eat, if I'm going to visit. If they want to fix me something, fine, or if not, I can bring my own. If they don't want me to visit... Well, it's how a support system grows and changes. Then, if someone asks questions, I try to answer that question, as well as possible, and not go into more than asked. It makes people stay interested, but not feeling preached to. Your videos are wonderful. You're doing a great service. Thanks for posting.

This is amazing! When my son started asking me about the food we ate at age 5 he started to refuse his meals and push his plate away and refuse to eat any animals. I though for that moment “what is wrong with my child” but then I decided to support him. He went vegetarian first but the more my son and I did research we then went vegan. I have Daughter as well and I decided not to push it to my daughter. I wanted her to make her choice on her own and sure enough she also went vegan. Sure I got so many bad comments from my family especially since we are Hispanic and I was raised eating meat. I was looked as a mom who was neglecting her children. Though it hurt me I was more concentrated on supporting my children. Now I love this life style and I have two wonderful kids thriving in a vegan lifestyle.

I feel happy when I see many are against animal killings. Killing animals for food is like cruel lions who kill to eat, but we are more cruel than animals because we have many plant source food to eat. All in all, all animals will set free after Jesus second coming. The new earth will have no killings for food as it was at the time of Adam. Romans 8:18-23 19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. 20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected [the same] in hope, 21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.6 23 And not only [they], but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, [to wit], the redemption of our body. 24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? 25 But if we hope for that we see not, [then] do we with patience wait for [it].

I suffered from metabolic syndrome (obesity, high cholesterol, high triglycerides, and high blood sugar). I went whole food plant based no sugar oil or salt and I lost 65 pounds, all my conditions greatly improved, my gums stopped bleeding, and erections and energy returned. I used to have an appetite that was never satisfied; whole foods cured it. I no longer use a sleep apnea machine. Finally, the food is cheap-Beans, lentils, rice, potatoes and seasonal apples. Also, I save money by not having to buy pills or visit the Doctor. I am thankful to all the vegans who suffered attacks to reveal the truth to me.

These are quite extraordinary stories in my opinion, because all these people are vegan. It is quite a chill and enjoyable documentary providing lots of different perspectives of different age groups and backgrounds. It has an empathetic, but not very urgent messaging which the animals need more. It is a fine documentary except for a few comments at the end of it, direct activism gets dragged by a person for no reason. Screaming with blood and all does help, it is a method which reaches the most non-vegans, and yes there are plenty of people who went vegan because of activism like that. We as vegans are facing big corporations, we can't just be chill all the time and appear gentle, nonthreatening. We need to shock, expose and awaken people directly too. All social justice movements have been positively affected by direct action, whether combating women's rights, racism or homophobia activists have done actions which the media and the general public did not approve of and yet they boosted the numbers for the movements. That being said I am certain those aren’t the views of everyone involved in the documentary and that the documentary makers were probably trying to open up discussion and to showcase all sorts of perspectives of vegans. There is a kid activist who is now a teen and whom I have seen on instagram, but did not immediately recognize. There are a lot of cute things and scenes in the documentary, whether they are staged or not they are wholesome and not something you usually see with these documentaries. It made this feel like an exciting movie. I really love the ranch story or well any story here because all these people are vegan, haha.
