Vegeta was a bigger threat than Buu at that moment. This is one of those FEW times Goku was an actual genius. He knew that if he did nothing, Vegeta would've killed the planet to try and get what he wanted. Which would've resulted in Buu reawakening anyway. So, Goku chose to play damage control, and buy as much time as possible. Not a bad tactic, all things considered.
Who forgets to bring senzu beans and the seal for the mafuba. I can live with the gags, like roshi is mostly a gag character. But imagine if the original DB makes him a gag when he sacrificed himself trying to stop king piccolo. DBS has so many of these misplaced gags that ruins any built up tension.@@vegitoboi1075

I know everyone gives Supreme Kai a lot of crap and mostly deserved for how he chose not to deeply look over his universe and know that Sayians had progressed so much...but I still give him some credit in this situation. He just happened upon a trio of Super Sayian 2s that refused to heed his warnings or listen to his orders which has to be a first. He's even been wrong several times so I'm sure he's confused but trying to do the best thing for his universe...I respect standing up to Goku like "No dude enough, fight him after". Having Vegeta be shocked by Goku's response really elevates that scene.
Goku knew the outcome anyway, Vegeta can't be reasoned with. Even if Goku some how refused to fight, Vegeta would probably of ended up trying to kill the Supreme Kai himself. No matter what Goku would of had to interfered.

The Babbadi spell amplifies the evil in a person. Vegeta felt more restraint since he been on earth so the spell was suppose to make him lose all mental restraint. Its like a evil version of what The elder namekian did for Gohan and Krillin.
I love the battle, and Bruce Faulconer soundtrack mixes good with it lol. And you have to love Majin Vegeta. "Tell me, is it slavery when you get what you want?"
This is one of the only moments where I think Goku lost control of his Saiyan nature completely. He was prepared to kill a Supreme Kai in order to get a fight deep down he wanted more than ANYTHING . That’s high key some super dark shit
No, it's completely different. It was about taking responsibility for the lives that Vegeta took, and the lives that remained in which Vegeta would've taken if Goku didn't fight him. Supreme Kai getting in Goku's way meant that more innocent would die, so Goku made one of the hardest choices he's ever had to make: kill one to save hundreds and more.
if you haven't inferred it already, babidi's mind control in the case of Vegeta gets even more shocking, just wait for the question that Goku ask's Vegeta later in this fight.

Watching this fight again almost made me cry lol. And the story leading up to it. Vegeta is so damn Raw. And I still feel like he won both fights with Goku 💯

Well I think them going through that battle with the stakes so high against Cell was a huge learning lesson and was what probably propelled them to getting a lot stronger too.

Later on in Dragon Ball Super we find out that Supreme Kai is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!! If he were to die it would throw off the balance of the entire UNIVERSE!! So it's good that Goku didn't blast him 😅😅😅
That's Vegeta's whole thing though. He's pretty much a whining crybaby throughout this entire series. He only is actually mature until the last few episodes of the Buu saga and the entirety of Super. As a kid I thought he was so cool, but when I rewatched the series as an adult, all I could think while watching Vegeta throughout DBZ, damn he is such a whining crybaby about everything! He mocks adult Gohan for neglecting training but dude you've been nothing but a disappointment as well.
That's how far ahead of everyone Gohan was on the Cell Saga. Even Cell's power, who was the 2nd strongest at that time was overwhelmingly superior to Gohan's SS2.
Vegeta has been fighting his nature. He was raised to conquer, slaughter and be Emotionally detached. Saiyans are emotionally fueled beings. Think back to the Gohan vs Cell ark. gohan was severely depressed and that crippled his power, him being pushed and basically Snapping is what unlocked his hidden powers. Vegeta is the same basically, rejecting his nature and upbringing has crippled him as he hasen’t Truly Accepted what he’s becoming. Selfless. Ego and mood are drives for these beings.
This shows way deeper than it appears on a surface level. :) but you guys know that already. As you watch more and eventually finish the show I’ll give you a full full on breakdown on most thing lore wise people miss. I don’t wanna give any spoilers so Untill then I’ll silently just watch unless you ask people stuff in the video directly or something.
@SomosCuatro yep. Funimation made the dub better with Kai. Yall watching the old dub. in my opinion is cringe and unbearable at times! I want the full context from Akira himself and the dub does not give that. So that line at the end doesn't make sense. Our fate, our battle...what! SMH. "I'm going to kill you Kakarotto" makes sense because Vegeta wants to kill him!
I'm gonna say this ep with original Japan soundtrack is better. Especially the scene where Shin blocks Goku's way soundtrack original is hit then DVD English!!
