Is your vehicle shuttering under a acceleration? Is your check engine light flashing? Then check this video out first. You could be having a cylinder misfire. Your codes could be the P0300 and P0302 like I had, but you could also be getting the following codes based on cylinder.

If you can wait two to three days Amazon would have your best deal on a set of coil packs.

I have this same issue on my 2008 Frontier. Started with Cylinder 3 misfire. Threw a coil pack on it and it fixed it, then two weeks later my drive to work was just like yours. doing full plugs and coils now. The plugs are trashed probably the originals 140k miles old at this point. gotta put the the intake back on in the morning and testing it.

Ohh lucky you got a code. Mine is subtle when load is applied i think it’s a crank sensor.

I just changed the plugs on my 05 X. I didn't need coils but I definitely changed the most difficult coil. The one we all know is a huge pain. Only did the one, with an OEM part. My worries are soothed for the time being.

I just have to laugh at this because I have LOVED your content for years now helps me out so dang much with an 06 manual off-road trim X at 154k miles and I get the exact same issue as you that crop up within days of when your videos go live with the fix keep up the good work dood!

My 05’ Xterra had a misfire, P0300 and P0420. Previous owner replaced cats fairly recently they look brand new. So it better not be cats. Replaced with new coils and plugs and no more misfire or codes, for now…I’m approaching 200,000 miles. Edit: The cats were shot. Completely gone. No honey comb left. Replaced with cheap coils and spark plugs because I needed to drive to work and back. No more misfiring. Fast forward to today I have the same code P0300. No Cat codes thankfully. Gonna replace my could and spark plugs again with denso. Cats were replaced as well.

My 05 Pathfinder started up the other day doing the same thing. It stopped after a restart. At 200k miles, I think it is time to invest in a code reader.

Hey Ry. I have same symptoms on my 2008 as well as P0300 code. I replaced plugs and coils and cleaned all injectors to no avail. My next approach is replace fuel pump assembly in case it’s pump or filter. Am I on the right track? I also have P0340 camshaft sensor but I thinks it’s unrelated.

Ry, have you ever considered replacing the faded corner pieces of the window seals? Are those even available for replacement?

Usually it’s a bad coil boot if you get a specific cylinder and the boots are far cheaper than the coil. Look for a hole on the side of the boot near the bulb end that goes onto the plug. Swap boots with another coil and reset codes, if the misfire is now on the other cylinder only then it’s the boot.

Unrelated but is it possible to change the rod bearings (rod knock) without removing the engine? I need to find a bandaid for my sons cars until we can replace the engine.

Well the engine mounts are in the block and the cross member is further up towards the steering. I suppose you could theoretically drop the lower and upper oil pan while it's still in there. I think it might be possible. It would be one hell of a messy job though. If you try it please let me know. I would be very curious. the problem you will have is of the crank has to come all the way out.

My misfire ruined the catalytic converter. Too much unburnt fuel into the cat. Hope you have better luck!!

When I sold my Xterra with 190K miles I gave the buyer endless pages of detailed services 😂. I keep everything in spread sheets date, service, part numbers, cost, where purchased, issues. The buyer said if it wasn't for that they would have bought a high mileage SUV. Then, I took them on a tour in the engine, where is what, showed them the tags and lables I put on items that need special attention, pointed out issues to look for, ibthink they got bored at the end, just give us the keys dude 😂
