Another fantastic video! Love the Freestyle! You're becoming quite the Firebox Master! Very inspirational. Cooking is hard enough but filming as well makes it so much more difficult. I appreciate your hard work. Cheers!
Thank you very much and I appreciate you taking time out of your day to watch my videos, just can't beat the Firebox, it serves all my needs for cooking, Cheers for the comment, Chris
Hello Chris. Another epicurean triumph! Wow! Hey, last week I learned from one of your viewers that deer is available in stores in your neighborhood. I got curious. Here in good old Alabama you can hunt, shoot, and eat deer. You can give it away...but ya can't sell it. Thus, you can't buy venison in stores. I don't know how it is elsewhere in the colonies....there are some places that you can get it online for twelve prices...so it must be legal elsewhere....but here not. Makes no difference to this one....My freezer is well stocked with such and we had a big deer stew supper last night (as I reckon time jes about now.) Only thing missing in your version was the taters. Again Chris it would not do for you to live close by. I'd be hanging around all the time seeing what you were gonna cook next! Your mainest fan in all of Alabam, Norm (also wife Vicky) We never miss a show!
Thanks Norm, here in this country is larger estates and people from many places from around the world pay to shoot a deer. I have found them lying dead where they've been shot which is such a waste. Then there are the deer stalkers, paid professionals who shoot them dead to control deer numbers. Deer here have no natural predators anymore and so there's plenty. As for the supermarket I would guess that they're supplied by people who run deer farms, just like cattle. So there's not much in the supermarket and no big demand as far as I know. Glad that you managed to get some to make a deer stew, it's a good lean meat, I don't have it often myself but it was tasty for sure. Thanks for watching and the comment, Cheers Chris
@@northernembersoutdoors1045 Hugely different culture for sure Chris and it goes back hundreds of years....the deer thing. Here in Alabama you want deer...you get licensed and go hunt one up. (Some are better at it than others. I confess I am legendary for not getting deer. My son keeps us both in the deer vittles.) Down south in particular onct upon a time your people, sick of not being able to go hunting where and when they wanted to, came over here on ships. After they got tired of hunting they built America.
It's quite deer though... Sorry couldn't resist a deer joke. I got that out of Tesco, was about £4. Not too bad considering how much things have gone up.
@@northernembersoutdoors1045 We mix in some grated cheddar cheese to hold the things together in the pan. Finely diced bacon can be added for fat. Frankly, I can't tell much difference with bacon...so we just do the cheese. Scrambled deer burger makes the best chili, spaghetti, and similar.
