THANK YOU! So nice to see a skate shop finally making a QUALITY video. Great audio. Great editing. Great cinematography. Well-spoken on camera. Excellent job. Heck, if more folks created clips as professional as yours, I wouldn't have had to make all the skate videos I've done! Kudos to you all.

I just got some bushings and they're really great! I love it.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 15 лет назад
It really comes down to personal preference. I weigh 155 and like the resistance that harder bushings give you through turns. I run a green barrel bottom and red barrel top for DH. Harder bushings also keep you in your center point easier than softer bushings, which makes it more stable.
@naypaulm

thanks motion board shop. i cant believe i went this long with stock bushings!
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 15 лет назад
Yep. They work well for high-speed carving and decently for DH or freeriding. A pretty versatile setup depending on your weight.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 15 лет назад
It might feel odd, but not to weird. Since there is a combination of durometers there, the two will somewhat balance each other out. The board will feel more like it is running a bushing with red venom or a durometer in between the two.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 15 лет назад
the standard is a good option, you can't go wrong if you're doing a variety of freeriding. If you're really focused on hard carving then go with the supercarves, otherwise you'll be more comfortable with the standards if you're doing slides and stuff. Do a pack of 90a downhill and 85a supercarves and then split them between your trucks so you end up with a standard pack of split duros

what's up motion, just wanted to say I ordered from your website and got amazing service. Thanks so much.

@SeCreSyy I would suggest 85a Barrels all around for a stable setup and for a more agile setup I would suggest 85a cones roadside and 85a barrels boardside. Remember no cup washers! only flat washers!
@GhostShipPartIV

the bushing chart on your webpage is super helpful, thanks!
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 14 лет назад
@skimboardable that is a really good question, when I get in to the shop tomorrow I will test that. My guess is that you will have no problem with fitting supercarves on crails due to the cone, roadside Check out the new SHR's, to have 40% more rebound and are selling like hotcakes.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 15 лет назад
that's a hard question since usually a bushing that carves hard won't be particularly stable and vice versa. A good bushing setup that will be decent at both would be a red barrel bottom with red top, or maybe the new purple (87a) barrel bottom with a yellow barrel top.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 15 лет назад
i would say that you would like the yellow and orange elims if you want want to stay around a similar feel but you could also step it up a red barrel bottom and yellow elim top
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 15 лет назад
The yellows are really good Especially if you keep the old bushings you can have multiple combinations of bushings but i would say that a standard set of yellow 85a venoms would be really smart to toss into the board.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 15 лет назад
Ya that sounds like it would work fine. Make sure to try out some different washers for when you downhill or freeride. Cup washers, flat washers, and small flat washers make a huge difference in how your board feels and how your bushings work.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 15 лет назад
@weneedecolution Take off your kingpin, place a bushing on the underside of your hanger (boardside) and the other roadside, then put the kingpin back in. It's very easy to figure out, just take apart your truck and remember the order that you did it, grab the new bushings and put it back together.

@skataboyjake yup. the red barrel bottom and yellow barrel top gives you a really nice adjustable feeling truck. nice and turny when they're loose but they also are mad stable when you crank em down.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 14 лет назад
what kind of board are you riding? If you are looking to do some carving, I think blue cones are a nice way to go. If you're looking to do some DH, I'd go with the Christmas set up, green barrels board side, red barrels road side. It's a favorite of Nate's!
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 14 лет назад
@mexhatdancer The sidewinders actually can not have to barrels, so I would recommend trying out some randals or parises.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 15 лет назад
We like the khiro's but we have had such great results with the venom that we want to tell the world. Randal has great bushings as well, but the venoms are really fun to mix and match. Thanks for the response to the vid. I just posted and looks to be popular, so thanks guys! Jason at Mobo
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 15 лет назад
90a super carves would probably be the best bet for your weight and what you're looking for, hard duro but conical for extreme carvability
@chubeviewer
@chubeviewer 12 лет назад
@LongboardingIsALife you should get an 81a barrel boardside, and an 81a cone roadside, it gives you carvyness of the cone, and the stability of a barrel, and its a great bushing durometer to match your weight.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 13 лет назад
@steadylang101 your kingpins will be just fine, and yes, that sounds like a great setup.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 14 лет назад
Orange standards or yellow standards, depending on fast you want to be going. Orange is for slower riding, yellow if you want faster.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 14 лет назад
It all depends on hat feel you are going for, the eliminators are going to have a much leany feel, where the barrels are going to turn more. Personally i would recommend the dh barrels.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 15 лет назад
If you want a hard bushing that still has a wide range of motion I'd give green barrels a shot. If you like the restriction of an eliminator try out a yellow; something soft that allows for a lot of compression to negate the restrictive shape. If you like a softer feel with a lot of rebound, red barrels should also work well for ya.

@MotionBoardshop 15 лет назад
I've given the khiros a shot with the inserts and still found the return to center to be a bit lacking. It's pretty universally agreed upon that venoms are substantially more reboundy. But to each his own; as long as it works for you, that's all that matters. I am wondering if it is because you tried such a restrictive style of venom. 93a eliminators are going to feel stiff and limiting to your range of motion if you weigh anything less than 250 lbs.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 14 лет назад
@TheWhitestSnow we'd recommend yellow barrel, orange cone
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 13 лет назад
@wmalongboarding Just keep pushing, sometime the holes are undersized on the bushings or the kingpins are a little big or a combo of both.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 12 лет назад
@MrANGEL0115 The new 2011 Bears come with Green 81a Venom Barrels that are made just for Bear trucks. They are great bushings and are just like a orange venom barrel but a different color.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 14 лет назад
@vetonRadoni well 40mph downhill and carving are... fairly different. I depending on your weight, some red barrels all around might be a good setup.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 14 лет назад
@BabyTumbler I'd go with 180 Paris'. Otherwise it looks like a great setup!

Are they the newest generation of grizzlies or the older ones? The newer ones have a deeper bushing seat than the older ones and can work with khiros whereas the older grizzlies have a shallower bushing seat which causes the bushings to pop out. If they are the older ones I only recommend using an eliminator or JimZ, something with a large footprint, to keep the bushing in place. If you are particular to Khiro, then go for it, but I highly recommend venom bushings.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 15 лет назад
@WhereIsNumNum yes, venoms fit perfectly in randals, you won't have any problems.
@ianlolsatyou

after watching this i grabbed a pair of orange supercarves and yellow supercarves =D. VERY helpful to someone like me who is new to longboarding
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 15 лет назад
this is a really universal setup that feels good for just about everyone, what trucks/board are you putting them on and what kind of riding will you be doing? Thanks for the order!
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 14 лет назад
@chaaarest SHR stands for super high rebound, so it's more of a carving bushing in our opinion. They are very nice and bouncy and have a lot of return to center.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 14 лет назад
@SkatersFuture I would slap some 81a Orange Venom standards on there. With the standard pack you get the best of both worlds in stability and response. Not to mention bears have a pretty restrictive bushing seat as it is, so you'll be stable enough for some light hill bombin'.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 13 лет назад
@MyWoody26 You can run no washer on the bottom and be just fine, but a washer roadside is very important, otherwise the nut on your truck will eat away at the 85a bushing.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 13 лет назад
@NJ1275 flat washers provide less resistance than cupped washers and give you a little bit more turn.
@Drjerome1
@Drjerome1 13 лет назад
@hockeyrox615 i would recommend double barrels. probably around 85a, but get a harder one boardside, and a softer one roadside
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 15 лет назад
@TheLoadedRider Packs come with 2 bushings of the same duro. FYI. However we can split them up if you are looking for something special.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 14 лет назад
@chancerbob95 that's exactly what i would recommend for flatland style riding. Cones give you alot more agility for whippin the board around quickly.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 15 лет назад
As long as you don't intend to turn. They are going to be very very stable, but won't be able to turn very well at all. What are you planning to do with them?

@pixaman56
@pixaman56 14 лет назад
@SuveneerGuitar it really depends on how hard you want to carve. I;d assume you got the switch for dh/freeriding too so you wouldn't want too soft. Bushings are jusy one of those things you have to expirament a lot with. Mix an match and ride as many as you can.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 14 лет назад
@theflyinchocolatemil Yes you have to put the rounded out side touching the spherical.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 12 лет назад
@jubgun I suggest some 85a Barrels Boardside and 81a Roadside.
@TheCimosabi
@TheCimosabi 14 лет назад
@uchihakazuma i would recomend either venom supercarve bushings 85a road side and 90a board side which steers closer to freeride or the venom supercarve bushings 93a board side and 90a road side which steers closer to light downhill while still having a lot of free ride characteristics. its your choice
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 14 лет назад
@AandsomeJ I would recommend purple cones all around

@Glidefishlongboards Ive heard one person say they like the randal bushings, but i recommend some venoms no doubt.

@gangsterhamster7 Yes they would, the bushing seat fits barrels better though.
@bijanazghandi
@bijanazghandi 12 лет назад
To all heavier riders, there is a Venom SHR bushing (super high rebound). They have a higher durometer than the other bushings (i believe the highest is 98a) Hope this helped
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 13 лет назад
@Sontompa Fits them all differently because of the different designs in the bushing seat, but yes they fit em all.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 14 лет назад
@DervishLongboarder15 Eliminators have more urethane and provide more resistance and less lean. More stable for downhill.

@BHeadLongboarding 81a Venom Barrels all around should do the trick for ya. Also no cup washers! only flat ones.
@Drjerome1
@Drjerome1 13 лет назад
@Slayer11001 i would sugest 85a roadside and 87a boardside, i personally like shr 86a barrels boardside and shr 83a barrels roadside, the super high rebound feels fantastic on corners/carves
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 13 лет назад
@ObeyDriftor Are you looking for a bushing setup? I would suggest some Venom 81a Standard Packs. That would be barrels boardside and cones roadside, both 81a.
@chubeviewer
@chubeviewer 12 лет назад
@Wake2Sno ok for downhill get an 85a barrel boardside, and an 81a barrel roadside, then for carving i recommend an 85a cone boardside and an 81a cone roadside.
@liamsirisan
@liamsirisan 12 лет назад
@KanYeLife The cone is roadside.The barrel is boardside. The base of the cone bushing should also be boardside, meaning the tip of the cone is roadside
@ohhhhshiettttttttttt

imo double barrels are the best for everything. I like them better than cones because they have a better return to center
@MotionBoardshop

@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 14 лет назад
@Tarzan07330 hey Tarzan, yes barrels would be the way to go, but the eliminator's would be nice, especially board side, and then run a barrel roadside. At 165 pounds, I would go yellow eliminator, board side, and then an orange barrel, road side. Definitely check out the new SHR's at motion board shop.

Nice Video. Thanks for the post. This leaves me with even morge questions. Im getting a Loaded Dervish w/ 180 Paris Trucks and orange Otangs and weigh around 150 pounds. I will be using it mostly for commuting and i guess some dancing and carving. Looking for an allaround bushing replacement set. Any recommendation? Standard Set or just supercarves? Looked at the Yellows with 85a but not quite sure. hope to get some advice. thanks for all the efforts, markus (germany)

o and i'm using paris 180mm trucks. i know, they're not a downhill truck. but i went with them to get me a little more ground clearance to cut back on the rail bite.
@Drjerome1
@Drjerome1 13 лет назад
@KeKeKeilan that would be nice really stable for DH but it would be a little stiff on corners. going with something softer, or softer and super high rebound would be good cause they hold the stability and spring you out of corners/carvs. i love the feel of 'em i would go for shr 86a barrels boardside and shr 83a barrels roadside if i were you
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 15 лет назад
What kind of riding? Carving, DH, freeride? One setup that is good at one thing won't necessarily be good for another.
@RJDamage
@RJDamage 13 лет назад
I'm 6'4" 205 pounds. i Ride the Tan tien with paris 180's .. my bushing of choice would be the Venom SHR 88A's. I tweaked a lot on my deck with all sorts of bushings but those venom SHR's (combo's, so barrel-ds and cone-rs) ride AWE.. SOME..!
@chubeviewer
@chubeviewer 12 лет назад
@SPEEDYSEAL OK i recommend getting a 78a barrel roadside, and 81a barrel boardside it a great setup for sliding, carving, and also is stable for downhill, and offers a great rebound, with the combination of calibers tight bushing seat. >:)

@BugsyHoff
@BugsyHoff 12 лет назад
i would go for 83a or 85a venom barrel bushings but you should look at the bushing sector on motion boardshops wesite
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 14 лет назад
Hey guys, before asking exactly what bushing you should get for your weight, I'd recommend watching the video first and getting a feel for it. Recommendations we make on bushings for you specifically, are relatively moot. I can help you "ballpark" your choices, but in the end, figuring out what bushings are best for you comes from EXPERIENCE with different bushings. I, for example, like to DH on stiffer bushings than other people, what I'd recommend for DH might not be what YOU like.
@crazjtk
@crazjtk 13 лет назад
@WakemanWheels You won't get the same feel out of bushings as you will springs. I've found that the springs have a snappier feel, where the bushings are a smoother rebound. I run supercarves in a set of 50 degree Randals, and the handling compares pretty well to most of the original setups. Bottom line though, You can't replicate springs with bushings, and vice versa.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 12 лет назад
@ElitePoopJerky Yep Yep Yep. Barrel+Cone would be rad. I would suggest some 81a bushings for Downhill/Freeride and some 78a bushings for Freeride/Carving.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 14 лет назад
@tehbl4h I would recommend trying an elim on bottom and a cone on top.

@TheCimosabi
@TheCimosabi 14 лет назад
@itsamilligan because venom bushings which are the best bushings have different varieties like downhill, superva.etc. so its important to have a bushing set that fits your needs.

@77cja77 I would suggest Randal 180's with red venom barrels all around.
@MotionBoardshop
