Her reaction is like she went to court for a speeding ticket and suddenly was found guilty of murder, and her lawyer didn't seem to be overly comforting. But she looked as if being found guilty of murder wasn't one of the choices the jury had. She should probably read the indictment next time.
Her lawyer really didn't do his job, if he would have pled for 2nd degree murder at worst, she still would have had a chance at a life afterward, but he falsely gave her confidence that she could "beat" a case with so much "self-inflicted" evidence in regard to text messages.
Yes, she really should have taken a plea offer, now she'll be old and gray "if" she is ever released. Most likely, she'll commit suicide in prison though.
I would be detached from reality if i had just found out my own father psychologically manipulated me and had sexual attraction for me ever since i was 16 (youngest inappropriate photo he had of her) or maybe even younger. He’s disgusting although he didnt deserve death, shes not evil. She needs jail time and help cus she’s definitely messed up after that betrayal but life?? Messed up ‘justice’ system in my opinion
Her shocked look gives me the creeps.. After murdering someone, she actually had the conviction that she'll get off with that nude pics fairy tale?? Whatever was she thinking!! 🙄
Texts from her to friend... 'I just dosed the h*** out of him. Stopping for whiskey at Dixieland to stall. LMK.' 'He's waking up. I really don't want to be the one to do this.' 'I can't carry him alone and I can't keep a kicking body in my trunk.' 'I am about to club him on the head as he is waking up.' 'I'm not strong enough. He is very aware now and I am on my own.' --- A friend who did answer her call for help, Adam Siplyak, went to the home on New Year's Eve but said he would not help her to get rid of the body. The following day, he went to the police to report what happened. Janks originally told him that she needed help getting Merriman home because he was high on pills. However, when Siplyak showed up, she confessed what happened. When police arrived his body was found outside under a pile of trash.

I've said before, she looked like someone in traffic court and they suddenly announced guilty of murder. Lol As if she never knew that was even possible
@Blaze EST 😂 you didn't get it bro, OP saying the way she looked at the lawyer would've killed him dead "if looks could kill". Not that she looks good 🤣
@@sallyperzanowski6625 the defense claimed he found a memory card not that he was taking pictures of her ! She took the pictures her self and the defense never proved he had any pictures the hard drive went missing after his murder! So its alleged he had pictures! The text messages got her and she was reaching for anything for sympathy !imho
Just got caught up - what a weird case. There has to be more to this story. She says she felt very close to him and that she could be more open and vulnerable with him than anyone else she knows, but that it was always “a little skeezy”.
I can't seem to find more on this case. Can someone definitively say whether he did or did not have nude images of her? If yes, how did he have possession of them?
They were nude photos she'd taken of herself and stored in her laptop and/or a memory card. Allegedly he found them and copied them onto his computer. I say allegedly because his computer harddrive was missing, so there's no evidence he had any pictures. Only her word.
@@attentionaddicts Spot on! I have my doubts there were any nudes and if there was I'm thinking she probably gave them to him!! Someone trying to hide something isn't going to put it as their screensaver for anyone to potentially see 🤦🏻♀️. She's a liar and not a very good one I'm glad she got what she deserved.
I find it interesting how there's actually a lot of women defending her as if what she did was fair. But my faith in women has been somewhat restored because when the judge ask the jurors is guilty your verdict to which they all said yes, you can clearly hear 8 of the 12 jurors voices are female. So at least some women aren't completely bias against men.
@kevindunne6044 these women on here are very sexist / haters..remeber the Danielle Redlick case??... she killed her hubby..than later went on the computer on a dating site..than waited 11 hours to call 911 and gave 4 different stories.....3 to the dispatcher and 1 other lie in court...🤮🤢🤮 and 99% of women favored Danielle and Danielle was found aquitted..😡😤😡...just imagine if the role was reversed?? can you imagine the out cry if the guy got 12 months probation?? 😳😳😳😳
Moral of the story? Don't take the law into your own hands. Report to the relevant authorities of any breaches of law. Acting as judge, jury, and executioner is not the answer. I think mandatory min of 25-life is much too harsh. But I'm not going to argue against the conviction. The only affirmative defense to murder is self defense or defense of another person. Vengeance killings, even if the person is a POS is not, and should never be a defense.
The story of the pictures is likely a lie. There was no evidence of this. She claims she deleted all the photos but she has been a liar through the entire trial. People need to stop smearing this man.
Her money will save her as it saves everyone in court unless it's a high profile case. This one is only medium profile so she'll likely be sentenced somewhere in the middle of the guidelines.
@@charlesc.6555 Weird that a black man like O.J. Simpson, who actually murdered someone, could be acquitted, given he had no white privilege to rely upon.
She really thought she would get innocent she let someone else know how she drugged him but she should have called police not murdered him on an overdose
it is perfectly ok to have an incestuous relationships in Christianity and is part of Christian family values. The Bible promotes incest, and pedophilia. The man was a righteous Christian and didn’t deserve to be killed.
What he did was not a death penalty offense! He may have gone to jail for a while and put on the sex offender registry for life that's punishment enough! She is super revengeful and got what she deserved!
hey parents, teach your kids about consequences. give them the tough-love this one never got. don't give into temper tantrums, set boundries and enforce them.
Hold up. The description said she killed her step dad after finding over 100 naked pictures of herself on his computer. That's creepy AF! No one might understand why she did it? Not saying it's right, but NO ONE can possibly understand her motive?
Ahhh yes the look of accountability. So foreign to them. "But im hot, I expected to get away scott free for everything my whole life! Doesn't everyone want to do me?!"
A very sad situation all round. The s/father had some real issues he needed to sort out , but she acted in haste and violence instead of using law enforcement to redeem her dignity. At least its goods to see California keep the law.
The naked photos aren't an excuse for a planned murder. If she had killed him in a fit of rage when originally finding the unsolicited photos she would of walked with a slap on the wrist manslaughter conviction.
If only she could handle nudity as confidently as Kim Kardashian, none of this would be an issue. In today's age, private photos can easily be leaked accidentally or by hackers. What then? Seek vengeance like Sadako from "The Ring"? Clearly not an option. While I could understand seeking revenge if this were a crime from decades ago, it's disappointing that this incident occurred within the last decade, when social media was already prevalent. It's regrettable that she didn't treat it as a lesser offense, opting instead to take matters into her own hands rather than reporting it to the authorities and letting them handle it.
Zero empathy here. Take photos like that you should expect more people to see them than you could ever want. Not saying what the dude did was okay, but didn’t deserve to be murdered. Americans have to stop pretending like they can murder other people and get away with it just because the person they killed was doing weird things. Let law enforcement handle it. She deserves to be in prison.
First thing she says is "how could they(?) do this to me". I can't read everything that she says but she's repeating either "it can't be" or "I didn't kill him". Those two sentences look too similar to be honest, I can't tell which one she truly said or if she kept repeating both of them. She also says "I swear" to her lawyer
Just learned she is an excellent interior designer! Perhaps she should be encouraged to improve the design of the prison? American prisons, esp CA ones are ugly as hell. Go look at Scandinavian and German prisons. Way better designed. She wants to redeem herself? Go help fix our rotten prison system.
I'm not asking you guys to justify what she did, it's clearly wrong. I just want you to hypothetically consider what your reaction might be if you found your teenage sister (or daughter's) nude photos on a person's computer. And you're about to see him. That's it, that's all I'm asking for, is to redirect your perspective momentarily.
They would give a man the death penalty as it was premeditated and she used drugs illegally! Bet she gets the possibility of parole! ARE ANY FEMINISTS GOING TO PROTEST FOR EQUALITY TO MENS SENTENCES ?
@@joesmith9216 sorry ! I ment she used drugs to subdue him by drugging him so she could strangle and kill him ! Not that she was a user !its my understanding she was a dr or something like that! Using drugs to subdue him shows premeditation and is a separate crime from killing him and i think that would qualify her for the death penalty! Sorry about my bad writing! We have a problem with laws being enforced the same for both men and women ! And thats the reason for my statement if she was a man she would have gotten the death penalty! Two felonies!
@@smckay6438 the sicko had photos of her categorized by body part. He failed her as a step dad. Fuck him she should have been set free. I would argue jury nullification would be just right for this case.
@@gamerdudeforlife101 wow , you are a sick person and needs help ?her texts did her in , she is a moron ! And im not defending him !but the defense never proved he even had pictures of her ! The hard drive was lost ! And the penalty for pictures is not death ! Plus the defense claimed he found a memory card not that he took the pictures ! BUT YOU ARE ONE SICK PUPPY AND NOT AMERICAN !
They wouldn't have given the man the DP. CA is moving away from DP. Feminists nowadays are less supportive of extreme sentencing as they used to. Really 25-life is not that lenient. And if a man did what she did, he too would face 25-life. LWOP or DP is for really extreme murder cases, like a monster who r@ped a child before murdering him/her, or a terror bomber who detonated explosives in the name of ISIS or something along those lines. She will get the probably around 25-life, and I don't think it's unreasonable.
This is what happens if you're not mature enough to control your emotions. And only gave nude photos if you're willing to accept that the whole world might see them...
So amazing. I guess if desperate even if obvious lies, give it a go. So never told ex had strangled step dad just coincidence he is dead and left on driveway (and man one lazy murderer. Just leave him right there). Asked fixer to help. Texted dosed him but again just coincidence he is dead 🤣🤣. Poor phrasing 🤣🤣🤣. On stand her lies are so obvious. Did you want Tom dead no no. During questioning before asked for lawyer no concern for Tom just pissed someone told. “Who reported him missing?” 😡
I find it hard to believe that photos triggered her that much. If you allow someone to take naked pictures of you how can you be surprised they get loose? Was there a possible other motive? Was she going to inherit from him? Because this sounds nuts.
Simply excuse you take photos, doesn't give anyone the right to take them from you or share them. As her step dad I would find that as a very serious problem. More so than acquaintances or even friends. That's just creepy as hell if It's true
Any man she chose to be with could've ended up like her stepdad, depending on how she felt. Do a move in bed she doesn't like, get caught looking another woman's way, glance at her nude in the shower by mistake, you're dead. At any time, both men and women can snap and kill their partners just because they want to. It makes me glad not to be in a relationship.
The sicko had photos of her categorized by body part. If you had a daughter and found this crap on a relatives computer what would you do. I know what I would. Fuck the dead guy
