VEVOR Annular Cutter Set Review/Test 

I have a modest selection of annular cutters. They're a game changer when drilling large holes. You do need a ridged setup "milling machine, good drill press, mag drill" Looks like a good value for the home shop..

This would be a set worth having on hand just in case. The price would allow for speculation. Jere

I used to grind hollow mills for specialized stud machining. With my cutters, the slug was needed/req- uired for the job. If you need a large hole I usually drill still smaller and then use a boring head or reamer to size it up.

I don't know what you are looking at, but to my eyes not enough coolant on cutter, oil is not sufficient applied once before starting cut, all edges look damaged and one looks like it never made contact with the work piece. Before pictures not that great looking edges. Try backing out before all the smoke and oil again.

Thx for sharing Chuck. When Stan & Phill droped in back in March, both commented on hand sanitizer as being a good sourse of coolant. I haven't tried it yet, but have you ? Next time I am milling, I will check it out, but when you are out at the Bash, ask Stan or Phill about using it!

Those cutters will definitely come in handy. I think they would be useful on the mill with the R8 holder. From where I stood it looked like it cuts a very nice hole. I was wondering what the maximum thickness of material would be allowing for the thickness of the slug. KOKO!

Getting ready to drill out a 2" bushing and wondering after a year are you still liking this set? Would it do fair drilling through welds?

Use constant coolant.

What was the hole size? It looked like there was some runout on both cutters.

I would say you were running those way to fast. I only run like 300 rpm on a 1” and less than that on bigger. Annular cutters don’t like speed. Looks like this is a different set than mr Pete had.?

Chuck, I don’t begrudge a man making money, but the quantity of Vevor RU-vid commercials is getting like political or lawyer commercials on broadcast TV. Awash, saturated, I feel like I am drowning in Vevor commercials and couldn’t buy their products even if it was the best for the job.

Were you pushing significantly harder on the second cut? Lots more smoke, which tells me if the pressure was equal that the cutter is dulling creating more friction and heat. Not good after one cut. I prefer the carbide cutters for longevity and amazon has a much, much better offering in more reasonable pricing than the MSC catalog. When you can use the mag drill with the cutters they are a great way to punch holes in steel. Using a hand drill in thick steel with a twist bit is not my favorite thing to do. Often you have no choice.
