One of the cool things about the Adam's family shots: the "hand actor" in the Adam's family played a severed hand in another movie, and he plays it completely different. In this, he has the hand being playful, standing upright, acting inquisitive. In the other movie( the name of which I can't remember) the hand is evil, and so he plays it more squat, low to the ground, sneaky, and spiderlike. You can really see the difference in the side by side shots

I grew up with them and understand the safety precautions around them, i think this one more should be added to the list of precautions though, with the amount of gun violence we currently have, especially in the US. No matter what side of the political spectrum youre on, its important to recognize the affects of gun ownership, use, and their misuse as well. So even if it wasnt the intention. There's always gonna be people who think CGI looks too fake and it's always bad but I see less and less of it now and when I do more people have at least a little knowledge to talk about what's actually happening in films and TV production instead of just automatically assuming it's bad because it's noticeable and fake. The "CHARGE " Blender short would be awesome for the VFX series. As well as *Aslan from the Chronicles of Narnia!* where you could do a comparison to the "live action" Lion King. Also at the end of second Chronicles of Narnia movie there's a big water creature, so it might be cool to see what you think about that. Maybe also, Max Schneider's Gibberish music video, the editing kinda breaks my brain there. The *last agni kai fight from ATLA* would be perfect for for the Animators React. It's so stunning! And for stuntmen react It would be cool to see you react to the duel from "Potop", it's really good sword fight (tho technically it's sabers i think)

This is by far my favourite show on youtube. Years ago I studied 4 years to become a video freelancer(av specialist) and managed to be one for a few years, in my spare time I thought myself 3d animation and modelling...I earned more money with 3d animation than what I studied for for 4 years...and you guys together with some other youtubers and tutorial sites helped a lot with accomplishing that.
@double-atime6523
@double-atime6523 Год назад
if you don't mind me asking, where did you learn 3d animation and modelling? Was it through a university course, or was it through programs/videos by any chance? I am interested in the field but I feel like it is going to be really expensive... and a big commitment?
@ItsASuckyName
@ItsASuckyName Год назад
@@double-atime6523 You may probably know it already but I used Blender for the 3d stuff, it's free software and has a massive online community that will help anybody who wants to get started with 3d animation and modelling. I learned it mostly by watching videos in my spare time, the biggest step for most people is getting started because 3d software looks incredibly frightening when you open a program for the first time. But it is absolutely possible to get in the field without studying at a school or university, becasuse I also did it this way and I know many people who have done the same. If you dedicate the time you would spend at a school on self teaching 3d, your 3d skills will increase massively, even more then when you would study for it. Messing around in Blender is also very addictive, kinda like gaming. The only thing I studied for was AV specialist.
@ItsASuckyName
@ItsASuckyName Год назад
@@double-atime6523 I wanted to add something that I learned the hard way, if you want to make a living out of video/camerawork/editting or 3d, work on communication between you and the clients. That is just as important as making the actual product, in this type of work there will be a lot of communicating, either about money(which is always awfully awkward) or brainstorming and discussing the actual project. I once worked on a 3d animation about the proper and safe placement of containers on container ships, I spent 80% of that project discussing stuff that the client wanted to change than actual animating and modelling...it's wise to agree on a certain amount of adjustments so that you don't spend months on one single project that the client keeps changing because he keeps comming up with new ideas. Or agree about that if the client keeps changing stuff, he will have to pay for it.

They've shown the back of the couch before. I don't remember when or where but I've seen the signatures before. And I wrote this before the "reveal" comes in the video.

I just watched Kevin's stop motion reel and had no idea that he'd made this gem of basic VFX as well

That couch is a piece of cinematic history. It needs to be preserved for the rest of time.

At around 11:13, when the Hand is moving next to the foot, not only the shadow of the arm is on the floor but also on the frame of the door at its left side.

Hey guys, there's some new AI stuff I think it'd be sick to see you check out. Some guys who worked on Ready Player One have released something called Wonder Studio, it replaces an actor with a CG model. It handles motion tracking, facial performance, lighting, clean plates, all that kind of stuff and it allows for the user to go in and make tweaks to their liking. I just think it'd be something really cool to see you guys check out. Anywho, love the content, looking forward to more

There's a short somewhere, I think it might be Instagram?, where Wren plays with Wonder so it might make it into a channel video at some point

I don't think I have ever said this about a sponsored segment on any video before but that one was genuinely interesting, and not because it catered to me but it was just a honest chat between friends and wasn't forced, rather that it trying to sell me something I felt that that ad can help alot of people, good job guys! 👍

Dude, I'm telling you guys, I was VFX Supervisor on a Steven Seagal movie about 10 years ago called Force of Execution. It was a riot! I'd gladly sit on the couch with you and discuss the insanity of it all. I'll even bring snacks 😁

3 days after VFX React 1 was released, it appeared on my feed. I watched it, and subscribed. I said it on another video, but this is one of the most consistent and enjoyable channels on RU-vid. Thank you and congratulations, here’s to 100 more.

It's interesting to me how the Thing being a severed hand carried so much over from the movies. In the original comic the Thing was a whole creature, just so horrible that you never see it, besides a hand coming out of a shadow. Then later in the TV show it was a hand coming out of a small box. The idea that the hand was the whole thing and walking around like that just comes from the movie and ever since it has not gone back or changed otherwise.
