@edwells4769 I'm perceiving reality perfectly fine. All I'm saying is I should be a lot more impressed than I am. You internet therapists just be fuckin talking 💀
@@saucetiny I know it was mostly a joke, but there are legit psychological problems brought on by people mistaking fiction for reality. It occurs in most women and all children, where they see something on a movie, tv, video game, or book and take it as reality subconsciously. It's why nearly all propaganda and advertising targets those groups. It leads to unrealistic perceptions and ultimately, unhappiness.
Hot take: Wembenyama will be the first player since David Robinson to record a quadruple double. I purposely didn't put a timeline on this but I strongly believe it will happen
I mean you can argue that Duncan did. in 2003 (in the playoffs which is really amazing) he had it all but 2 blocks weren’t counted as his. But yeah wemby could definitely do that, he has 15 years of his absolute prime in front of him, the sky is the limit for this kid if he stays injury free, he could even get a quintuple double, his steals are phenomal as well
As a lifetime Spurs fan, I’m excited. I hope he stays healthy. Chet too. If they stay healthy, it will give GM’s the green light to search for these kinda unicorns. I love it for the game because we’re potentially witnessing the beginning of a new era 🙌🏼
I really hope he can stay healthy, if he could stay in the NBA for like 10 years and play at the level we expect him he’s a no doubter for the hall of fame.
@@palefox8370dude no 😂 you could tell by glancing wemby moves much more gracefully and fluid like while bol bol is slower in his movements and less balanced
It’s nice to see him be so good been following his career since he was 14 and thought he would be a top 20 pick when his time came but a project player. Never would of thought he would’ve became what he is today. I knew he had the potential but didn’t think he get to this level so early.
It’s a finesse league. Look at how Jokic and Embiid play most of time. Everyone saying he can’t bang with nba bigs don’t see 1) he won’t be matched up positionally many 2) it’s not the year 2000 where he has to go toe to toe with physical forces like Shaq
As a spurs fan, elated the nba pundits like Kenny, rusty, funkydiabetic and others are recognizing real. Of course health is key and going against starters every night in meaningful games has to be seen.. but the guy has flashed stuff nobody has ever seen. It’s amazing to see and can’t wait to go the game in Oct 27
He will average much more i think we didn't already realise how scary he is he is already a TOP 10 defender 8 feet wingspan 7'4 who can run and has the mobility of a giannis with a light-Durant skills and shoot...
Honestly, if he does get injured I don't feel it will be from is frame not being able to handle playing as people are saying. I think it'll come from other players feeling the need to prove a point defending him super physically and end up causing an injury.
Wemby is the prospect i was waiting for. I think he can be the perfect basketball player. Evwry body saying he is too small are a joke it wont matter. Athelties quckness speed agility is alot more usfull then stenght
I think Wemby can average about 18ppg which I think it’s within the realms of reality, but most of his impact will come from his defence. I could see him easily average 3-4 block a game and a steal or two other some insane defensive metrics. I genuinely believe he could win DPOY his rookie year for sure, especially under Pop who will PUSH him to be an incredible defender. People forget but Dejounte Murray made an All defensive second team under pop and in the Spurs system so imagine what Wemby will achieve
There is an oop where he caught and dunked it and I swear it looked like how MJ stretched his arms to dunk the ball in space jam. I pray this man stays healthy and keeps on improving kuz the shit he already doing is NUTS
A few years back I described the perfect NBA player. A Player over 7ft tall but can shoot the ball. That player is now upon us. And he has Popovich as his coach?! Scary! My nickname for him is The Dali Yama because this cat is Surreal!
That is one tall, string beany man. He's got a ton of talent and can shoot for a big man. Hopefully he can keep healthy and happy in San Antonio coming here from France. I hope he also doesn't end up like other big men like Yao Ming who despite Yao being a tad bit beefier than Wemby, reminds me a lot like him height wise
Would be fun to come back to this video when the season is over. If his body can endure, sure. But now he looks like a mantis playing basketball, his body will fill out for sure, but we'll see how it goes.
He played in France, they play a lot more like the early 2000s so he got his ass beat up a lot still came away fine and no one except draymond and Dillon brooks are gonna be threats to injure him
Literally a modern day Wilt. Can't wait to see his career. After seeing his stretching routines and how his team handles him, I fully believe he'll have a long, healthy career. He's a seasoned pro already.
I agree with your enthusiasm because Wemby is definitely a unicorn, just like Wilt was. But Wilt was very different than Victor. Just to start, Wilt was more athletic (50" vertical vs Wemby's 32") and much more powerful. Victor is slight of build and plays much more of a finesse game. Honestly, I don't know who to compare Wemby to. He is really one-of-a-kind.
@@mediamannamanwilt probably had more of a 40” vertical, there’s video of wemby doing windmills with his head at the rim level.. there’s photos of wilt blocking shots with his hand close to the top of the back board.. but a 50” vertical on a 7” guy would put his entire head above the rim and a fully extended arm putting his hand an entire foot above the backboard…
Wrong, he’s a modern-day Kareem, The man used yoga before any other superstar and now we see wemby using it to reduce injury, both are high IQ, They read books and are not media driven like wilt with his egotistical feats. They both are laid-back and philosophical.
Are you CN THIS! Lol this brings me back to that Cartoon Network commercial back in the early 10’s it was a rap one and they was dancing. Ahh nostalgia
"And now, Pop sits on a mediocre roster as his remaining years dwindle away." Me, after seeing this video: Oh boy, here I thought mainstream media is fickle enough, but sure I am wrong.
Since I saw Wenby throwing the ball on the glass, catching it after taking off, doing a proper Ryder dunk move, crashing the glass in the warm up of the second game of last year LNB finals, live at Rolland Garros center court, it's like nothing is impossible anymore. Space isn't even the limit, he is space!!!!
Defensively is where he is gonna truly change the game if he ends up being an efficient 30 PPG guy those guys have existed. And 30 is 30 no matter how it looks but the things he is going to be capable of dping on defense will be jarring. Being on the spurs organization is also a massive blessing.
Yeaaah...he def seems as good as advertised, which isnt always the case w these young prospects lol. As long as this dude stays healthy he is going to have a helluva career
but we also said the same thing about kareem and lebron… and like those guys wemby isnt just dedicated to his on court game, he has a special trainer working around the clock on his body to prevent the usual injuries we see from guys his size. having guys like this on court is good for the game, here’s hoping he’s healthy and dominating for years
Literally every stat is maxed out, the only issue is insanely high chance of injury at that height, I fully expect him to snap very soon, but if that guy stays healthy yeah he's a GOAT..
There are probably some 10 year old kid already 6ft destined to grow to well over 7ft who are watching him and dedicating their life to basketball with 9billion people in the world. Growing to 7ft or above is actually not that rare in Sudan so would not be surprised to see some more players like him in the next decade.
If Victor stays healthy throughout the season, he WILL win ROY. And if the Spurs somehow make the playoffs, he could even be a dark horse MVP candidate. I'm not joking.
That standing verticle dunk outside of the restricted area reminded me of Michael Jordan's game winning dunk in Space Jam when his arm stretches, lol. In case it doesnt quite register with anyone how utterly rediculous that was... Measure out 4 feet away from your wall and without leaning forward, try to touch the wall.
And you got dang Popovich to put it all together for Victor! The last time the GOAT coach had a generational big man it resulted in 5 Chips. Barring any career ending injury, Wemby can probably do the same if not more.
Call me high on him idc and I’m a Heat fan so don’t call me out on spurs fan bias but yea this dude like easily has top 10 player potential and I do think he’s gonna come in averaging like 23 maybe 21 but definitely over 20 and like 8 rebounds and 4 assists and it’ll be clear like RIGHT away he’s a guy like he’ll be better than how like Luka was I’m first few years and I don’t think he’s gonna stop like I said top 10 player he will eventually take the crown from Jokic/Giannis and will quite possibly be this generations like next version of lebron as just that freak that carries the nba for over a decade 🤷
If he's anywhere near Duncan level good he has a good shot at bieng top 10 all-time, and if you think about he's kinda got it all. Great attitude toward the game and is awesome in front of cameras and interviews, is a team player, a leader, and is well liked by his teammates. Notice how I didn't even mention one thing good about him on the court? usually guy's with that type of talent have one or the other, there either insane talents without a great work ethic or there the opposite. Very very rarely do we see someone dedicated to basketball and more talented than anyone else in the room. He's got the height, the shooting, the defence, the play-making, and though he isnt the best rebounder I mean look at him, all he has to do is spend an off season working on it and im sure he'd be awesome at it. Best coach of all time in Pop and one of the best front offices/organizations in basketball. It's almost not even a hot take to say he's gonna be a top 15 player of all time
I dont know if Wemby becomes a greater basketball player than Tim Duncan was but he definitely has even more talent than Tim. Talentwise he's possibly the best basketball player the game has ever seen. And the scariest though: Have Popovich as a coach and train with Duncan to learn his moves? Like really?
Wemby is a ridiculously good midrange shooter. Over in France, he was far and away the best from the midrange, and compared to NBA players only DeRozan and Durant were more accurate. This has shown in preseason too. He can get to his spots and knock ‘em down he already has something better than that bank shot.
Everyone freaked out when he was ranked like 55th or whatever by ESPN cause he "hasnt played a minute of NBA ball" and I was like... if he plays most of this season, that ranking might seem low.
