For people wondering what to do against Megafist: block and take note of which you block. Blocked forward Megafist? He's -6, so any frame 6 or faster button should be a punish. Blocked Kara Back Megafist? He's -2, start your offense as his fastest button in frame 5. Blocked back Megafist? Challenge if you want, but he's +4. Fun fact: if you got HIT by forward Megafist and it wasn't a counter, you can grab him cause it's still -2 if he doesn't spend bar.
@@Etholux Before I give my long explanation - here's what each Megafist looks like: 1:18 - Forward Megafist 1:22 - Back Megafist 1:25 - Kara Back Megafist So Megafist has 2 inputs, 236 (quarter circle forward) P, and 214 (quarter circle back) P. Although they're both called Megafist, 236P goes Forward, 214P goes backward, and the game treats them as different moves. Because Potemkin is made to be slow and have trouble advancing in exchange for high damage, they made his forward-moving Megafist take 10 more frames to recover than his backward-moving Megafist, which technically "loses" ground against the opponent in exchange for being safer. For Kara-cancelled Back Megafist, (usually called Kara Back Megafist or KBMF) you kinda have to learn of a difficult technique called Kara-cancelling first. This is where you input a normal move that moves your character forward (in Potemkin's case, 6K - his tackle), and in the first few frames before the move comes out, you cancel it into a special move. What happens is the special move comes out while your character is moving forward, increasing the range of the move. If you own Guilty Gear Strive and my explanation is difficult to follow, the game has a tutorial for it in Mission Mode. From the main menu go to Offline ->Dojo->Mission->Hell Area->Sliding Special Move. This technique adds forward momentum to moves, but Back Megafist moves you back. Combining them causes Potemkin to use an in-place Megafist with special properties - it does 30 more damage and bounces the opponent higher, but is not as safe as Back Megafist. I apologize for the incredibly long explanation, but this should be nearly comprehensive. The only thing I left out is Kara Forward Megafist, which is just a longer range Forward Megafist with no other new properties.
watching this is both scary and reassuring. Reassuring because it's comforting to see that even high-level players lose sometimes. Scary because, I'm now realizing you are not the only God Damn Monster lurking in heaven.
Damn, Hotashi´s entertaining level is off the charts. I never expected to spend 2 hours watching two characters I don't necessarily like fighting each other in a such one sided way and still enjoy it. Hotashi is really fun plus a master in his craft plus the background music is excellent.
I feel this one a spiritual level; thank you for your service lol about halfway through this video rn wondering when you'll stop going in for a Close Slash and when Pot won't grab you for being too close lol
i picked her up and it's a blast. you have space control like nago but are way more mobile. the health difference is a big adjustment but otherwise she's a ton of fun
I notice a lot of the matches Hotashi loses are ones where he goes in a lot. Bridget's job here is to annoy potemkin from a distance she'll never out damage him overwise
@@bassbusterx ah yeah im not gonna lie i just started playing when Bridget was released, i thought id be throwing away money and it turned me into gg fiend.... Also just the amount of health that potekmin has vs Bridget dishes is lol
