Not to scale with Leader Prime, but its an awesome Leader Class figure of Ironhide.. They really should do a Leader Class Ratchet!

Ironhide got a leader class...but megatron did not...such a shame megatron in dotm is great...if(a really big if) they make leader class megs(dotm) i would buy it...

When you said the vehicle modes were in scale I was like, yeah right. Ironhide is way too big. Then I looked up the scale of the actual movie vehicles and I was stumped. Ironhide's toy vehicle mode is literally almost in perfect scale with leader Prime's toy vehicle mode. That GMC is HUGE!

This is really late but just want to point out. The voyager Ironhide fits in scale better in the movie line. Also deluxe bumblebee fits better than then the human alliance bumblebee. Also the smaller version of Jazz is more movie accurate in scale wise. If you don't believe me, check the Internet pictures, the movie scenes and stuff like that. Other than that, very nice review like always. This Ironhide toy is also more movie accurate than the other previous incarnations. Very good toy.

the Hunt for The Decepticons Deluxe Class Ironhide is the best Ironhide.

Optibotimus: Removing the faceplate and lever will sacrifice his speech functions and make his head fall off quite often. You could probably use a pair of cutters to slice off the faceplate itself without removing the whole component. Just wanted to let you know

People are complaining about the blue? Thats one of the reasons I like it.

I have a solution to make ironhide perfect scale make ironhide and squat as you can and then to optimus seperate his chest and waist and rise his chest to make him taller

I went to my local Toys R us today and they had leader Sentinel Prime, Ironhide and some leftover leader Revenge of the Fallen/Hunt for the Decepticons Leader Optimus Primes! Going to pick up all three tomorrow! Again, great review Optibotimus, as always!

i just love this figure. the scale is perfect like you said , and the chest pieces dont come loose lik other versions of ironhide. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I have this one. I find him amazing, but wat goes for the front wheels... mine constantly won't stick in place after I transformed him from robot to vehicle.

i did a custom re-paint on the legs,the guns and parts of the chest!

you can trying coating the ball joint in super glue then attaching the chestpice but continaully rotating it so it doesnt stick basically ur making the ball bigger so its not loose

i ordered a ironhide and its easy for to take out the mouth plate ..... the cannons are AWESOME optibotimus....... this is the best ironhide we ever got!!!!!!

that happen to mine too in the beginning..they glue the head on hard..so you have to turn it a little hard or play with it and rotate it a little bit to get it to turn..see if that helps..

@optibotimus The part you say that's the most difficult piece to put into place when converting into vehicle mode is actually pretty easy. When flipping the windshield into place, instead of spreading the roof apart, just press them down while pushing the back windshield joint into place and it slides right in.

I think the missle on his knee is for busting other's knees, so it brings them lower and Ironhide can knee them. I used a lot of "Knees"...

Finally the ironhide I been dreaming for!!!!!

Great review as always, I like the scale created with the those four figures. Unfortunately, I only had the privilege of owning Leader Optimus Prime, and he broke a couple of years ago, unfortunately.

At the end you should have put "R.I.P. movie Ironhide 2007-2011" with will your ember me playing in the background

I'm pretty sure the voyager class Ratchet comes pretty close in size. I could be wrong but it's worth a shot.

Someone may have already mentioned this.But there is a tab in his back so you can secure the back pack.

I have it. All that plastic underneath (some people call it "kibble") is the worst part of this. I checked the premium version but it still has all the underside junk. Reminds me of the SR71 jet with all the junk underneath in it's jet mode (the main reason I just can't get that one).

Thanks for the transformation of ole Ironhide here ! Really like the way you go into detail showing all the tips and tricks. I got Sentinel Prime with Ironhide (both Leader class) for a steal on eBay. S. Prime was a pain in the butt to get back into vehicle mode. He may stay that way. Have you bought the extra weapon kit for Ironhide that I've seen on eBay ? Would you recommend it ?

You can buy the leaders at both and they are mostly aroung 60$ -70$ in US currencies.

Apperntly they have made a red version of this Ironhide. I really like that some are willing to make g1 transformers for the movie. I kind of widhed he was red now. my personal preference.

I actually dont have a problem with the blue legs its a great change but of course im gonna by 2 of them and repaint the legs black but the one I have I really like I would highly recommend this to anyone simply a great figure and thank you for the review which greatly influenced my opinion on getting him you are great keep it up:)

My Leader Class Ironhide also has that ball socket joint problem of detaching too- on both sides! And my Ironhide's head is glued straight and the mouth plate doesn't lock down at all. The leg middle on mine fires perfectly though. Overall a great figure. Not a fan picture Cyan legs. I'll probably do a repaint somewhere down the road.

thank you optobotimus! i bought this guy for $70 i used the instructions to transform him and his shoulder the whole thing cracked off. i returned him got another one for free and watched your video and transformed him perfectly.
