It was a simple mod plus retains the factory firewall, most people will never notice, my favorite kind of mod.

That looks so good I don’t know why vintage air doesn’t do it that way to start with, their engineers should hire you as a consultant! Great job

Good Question, probably would elevate the cost a good bit more but is suppose they could make it an add on option.

Actually, they do..V.A. has their own install shop and they will do anything custom for a price. They have the means to make anything..

Enjoy your videos and you are one intelligent man. I ❤️ my Pontiac's I own a 1969 Firebird and a 1967 GTO COUP. The GTO I'VE Had since 1972. Third owner. I'm in the process of finishing my Firebird. Driver's side floor pan and put the interior back in and it will be completed. You've tough this old man a few tricks I'm 70 years old and have owned Pontiac's since I was 16 years old. I retired from being a truck mechanic of 37 years. One thing I would like to know do you paint your own car's. The white Firebird looks awesome. Keep up with the videos it keeps this old man going.

Looking great, its awesome how you made it look like you were never installing an aftermarket heater control box. It will be interesting to see what you come up with for the AC lines. Keep up the great work.

That was Awesome, I have a 74 Datsun 260z and JDM wants 200 to 500 for the valve . Thanks to your video I will run down and get some copper pipe , 45, 90 s couplings and that compression ring and get to fitting. 😊

We are sold, we were kicking around weather to put air in our 67’ or not. We will definitely be installing air and using your method. Looking forward to the rest of the install. 👍

Nice, I didn’t want to cut up the firewall and I also didn’t want to have the block of plate to look at under the hood so this was the best solution I could come up with.

The o rings in a shark bite fitting is only rated for 160 degrees so you might have a issue. Also not sure what the antifreeze will do to the o rings. great idea to make it look factory
@VinylVillageGarage
@VinylVillageGarage Год назад
That’s interesting everything I read the DZR forged brass fittings are rated to 200 degree and 200 psi. Now ethyl glycol I didn’t think of it being an issue. Rubber orings are used all over automotive for cooling systems. That part i can’t guard I suppose there is chance for an issue but I guess I will keep everyone informed. Thanks for checking it out.

I go for mods that most people miss and question if anything was done, but when they do see them it blows their minds sometimes. Then they look for more.

Now that it's all installed, do you feel you could have also installed the heater control valve to the right of the motor (viewed when sitting in the passenger seat). Doing so may require a metal extension plate be added somehow, but it may remove it from where a foot could damage it. I will try to send you an amateur picture to show what I mean through your RU-vid page. Never did it before, so I don't know if doing that will work. Unless you have another way I can send it.

Heater control valve I have seen other people mount it further towards drivers side. Not site it will for further right because of the a/c lines. As with any mods a mock up would tell the story.

I like it!! What's your plan for the original fan motor opening? Install it but not hook it up?
@VinylVillageGarage
@VinylVillageGarage Год назад
I will be routing the ac lines thru that opening, then inside the car below the windshield, the plan is to not cut up the kick panel for the install.

Has this held up under heat? I'm curious about the sharkbite connectors, and if they can take the heat.

So far so good, the 3/4” fittings are supposed to be rated to 250f smaller fittings like 1/4” only 75f I have a 160 thermostat as well.

Looking at the direction of the evaporator drain. Looks like it won't be low enough to clear the outer heater box.

I haven’t drilled the hole yet but from what I tell it would work where vintage air says to dump it. I like to route mine closer to the rocker panel it doesn’t drip On the exhaust that way. I hope I still can on this one
