Hi Matthew very nice shave with the straight!😊 I found two companies from Solingen, Solingen is a City in Germany and has many Knifes Manufacturers. Maybe the most in the whole world 😊. One is the Carl Schmidt Sohn AG the other is the Carl Schrick Sohn both from Solingen! I send you the whole list in messenger if I can Matthew then you can search 😅😅😅 Have a nice rest of the Sunday and week 🤗

@@RobertsClassicShave I thought the logo on the scales would be a great identification. I was thinking they may not belong to the blade, so who knows. Thanks for watching Robert!

Straight razor isn’t only a little more difficult on the phone, I am not brave enough to put a straight blade on my face😳. Looks like you’ve got it down decently though! I can’t agree more with whatever works for you. I find it funny that people will complain about the things that don’t work for them in their shave, but they keep doing it cuz that’s what they’ve seen or been told to do. This should all be simple enough….if it works, keep doing it,but if it doesn’t work well for you, time to try something different. After all, doing things repeatedly and expecting a different result……isn’t that the definition of insanity? 😂🤦🏻‍♂️

@@Lee-deadphishaves you are totally right, give something a try and if it doesn’t work, make adjustments or go back to what you know. That’s part of the fun, chasing that dream shave. Thanks for watching Lee!

Nice! Great soap and splash scent and perfect for the carnival! Nice German straight, but I don't know much about it. A lot of these manufactures made razors for companies all over the world, but I'm sure someone watching might know something. If the scales look pretty straight, my guess would be when it was repaired one of the pins was peened with the razor out of position. Because there are only two pins holding the razor together, it can be a little tricky to have everything centered when you're peening it together and the blade is off-centered. I've used this to my advantage putting a razor together that had warped scales, so it would close without hitting the sides. You look like you've been straight shaving for a bit, because you've got a pretty smooth technique. Have a great one!

@@lastshadow9351 i really like this scent, it’s too bad I didn’t get any cotton candy at the fair. I really wanted to remove the scales when I cleaned it and polished it but the pin in the blade wouldn’t budge. So I decided not to remove it and possibly break the scales. Thanks for watching Ian!

Very impressive. You didn't say but it appears this straight razor shave wasn't your first rodeo. Also, did you do the sharpening and honing? And how long have you been straight razor shaving? You definitely made the shave look easy.

@@BartBuzz I’ve been straight razor shaving off and on for around 3 years now. I have a few other videos in my straight razor playlist 😃. Yes I did the sharpening and honing. It turned out nice compared to how bad of shape it was in before. Thanks for watching Bart!

Shaving with the grain looks the “safest” part. Did it take you way longer to learn how to safely go across the grain and against the grain?
@lawrence1md
@lawrence1md 15 дней назад
@@goteampatrick with the way my stubble grows, I never go against the grain. It does appear that way in a couple places. The trickiest part on across the grain is just the initial start. Once it cuts through the stubble and is on the skin it’s good. It’s like a break through too quick or hard will have a chance to cut the skin unintentionally. Thanks for watching Patrick!
