Trimming the tape when already applied to the vehicle is a recipe for disaster! And there's no harm in "wrapping' the tape a half-inch or so inside the doors - promotes less of a "break" whenever the tape stops. Also, use a clean cloth to press down onto the tape for final application, rather than a bare finger (with skin oil).

Great presentation and video edit.personally I prefer olfa knife for a lighter touch on the paint surface.I can "score " the vinyl lightly and gently snap away the excess vinyl .That seems to work well. Thanks for all the excellent pointers.

Why would you even suggest that using an exacto knife on your clearcoat is a good idea? When you remove the pinstripe you're left with nice white lines everywhere.

you can but just dont press down hard just enough to cut it have to take your time on this part so you wont scratch the car ive done that before and learned from that ~
