@@paulinewhite3273 While you’re right, it is totally possible to have a relationship with the Lord without attending church, it’s not advisable. The Bible does talk about gathering with other believers on a regular basis to worship and engage is spiritual discussion, and also for the teaching of a pastor. The Bible in no way suggests not attending church. I’m not scared for my personal relationship with Jesus. I’m scared for the souls of the those who wont have a church body to grow in the faith with and then eventually drop out of the way. In addition, half-hearted “Christians” (I use quotations to emphasize the fact that these specific ones aren’t really believers but attend church and appear spiritual publicly) will find it much easier to just not attend church. No one knows that they didn’t do their VR church thingy and then they fall completely out. With fake believers that currently attend church, their souls are by no means saved, but at least they’re being regularly fed the word of God. Another thing is that with a customizable sermon where you can set the number of convictions to zero, it will become much easier for even committed Christians to go for that option. With this, they don’t really grow in the faith. One final point: In Acts, we see the Apostles gathering together in a house church format, and Luke (the author of Acts, who was divinely inspired to write it) has a very positive attitude towards it. Since God inspired such a book, we can know that God also looks favorably on it. To conclude, physical gathering with other believers on a regular basis in a church setting makes a lot of logical sense, and it’s also prescribed by the Bible. No, it’s not necessary for a personal relationship. If you never attended church, it doesn’t mean you’re cut off from God necessarily. However, it is highly advised by the Bible, which we view as God’s way of communicating with Christians.

But how should the world see the love that we live in the body of christ, if we only meet online? If they can not see our gatherings phisically, how will they experience godly love?

Carazy123 I’ll share my personal experience with you. I used to attend a Pentecostal church and we had a guest preacher one day. After his sermon he calls people up for prayer. As he’s laying hands on my forehead and praying over me speaking in “tongues” he whispers in my ear “throw yourself backwards” as if to make it seem that the Holy Spirit had come over me or something. Needless to say I did not listen to him cause I was not about to make a mockery of God and fake being “slain” in the spirit.

AriesFireDragon1 ohhh, I was so confused cus I’ve attended a Pentecostal church my whole life and have never seen this happen 😂 but then again I live in SoCal and it’s a Hispanic Pentecostal church and I do remember watching a video of another Pentecostal church in one of those eastern states and yeah definitely some feinting going on there. But I don’t judge, if God is truly touching them in a way that causes them to faint then so be it.
