Hmmm. This is mainly for the purpose of churning credit cards so you get your 5-10% at grocery stores without spending it actually at the grocery store.

Still happened with one behind the cash

I need to explain this one better how the scammer gets away with this.

I almost want to camp out there with police to catch the person doing this.

That's a shame with VISA ones because it sometimes requires opening it up completely to see the paper inserted.

It isn't but I got a new one that's 10% targeted offer from BBVA.

You buy it but you don't have the numbers to spend it. The scammer then uses the card number and buys things with it without you noticing.

Hopefully this video prevents some of it.

They could try to void the gift card purchase if the scammer didn't redeem the card yet but seems like Walmart isn't helping you on that.

@@BeatTheBush walmart doesn't help at all. Even knowing that it was happening in their own cashier with a card handled by their own employees

Credit cards have cash back in certain categories. Buying gift cards at a grocery store is then classified as grocery purchase. Then with the gift cards you have this high cash back and you spend it on anything that does not have a high cash back category like utilities, fast food, insurance, parking meters, etc.

I bought a $100 vanilla Gift card and I spend $50 but later on someone made a purchase without my permission from some weird place that I don't even know I called customer service and they said I need to call the place that the person purchase it there I was like there's no number to call how am I going to contact them? Customer service person said well in 7 days call back and than we investigate I was like wtf 😒 7 days? Dude was rude I'm sure he being getting phone calls like mine and this happened right away when I purchased something from Walmart I went and checked online from the vanilla Gift card website online I put all the info and first it said I had $50 left later on that I went to check again surprise someone made a purchase without my permission that's mess up

Sears mastercard but not available anymore. You might do so with 5% cash back cards, you can buy gift cards with credit cards.

Weirdly they both worked, but I realized fake when I went to register at the site they said to register at inside the envelope and on the gift card itself.

How

Many credit cards will have cash back rewards for purchasing at certain places. For example gas stations 5% cash back. You buy a $100 Visa gift card at a gas station, and now you just got 5% cash back on $100 worth of purchases for anywhere, not just the gas station. Not sure exactly where he's getting his 10-15% cash back. He may be talking about points conversions to different credit cards, which increases its points value. For example chase sapphire reserve gives you 1.5x your points value when you transfer your points to it. So 5% cash back turns into 7.5% cash back.

@@vasilestana9754 Pathetic how? The chase Freedom flex is one of the best credit cards out there (5% cash back). If you're Freedom flex isn't useful for this quarter, you just need more credit cards that can fill out the rest of your year. Discover it, US Bank Cash Plus, Costco citi Visa card, Venmo credit card, etc. 10-15% cash back is unheard of. I told you I am curious as well.

@@YuhNinja I get 1.5 % with Chase Freedom Unlimited. I never heard of Chase Unlimited Flex. I'll check that one out. I also have Bank of America Rewards. Not good either. Thanks, and please let me know if you find better rewards credit cards. In this financial crisis, every penny counts.

That could lower your risk as all few times I’ve seen, they put the card first one at eye level.

You buy them, get 10-15% cash back and spend them on Utilities, Insurance, Parking, anywhere you do not typically get such high cash back.
