What a lovely treat Ali your trip to SWYS & a lovely mooch round so you got your yarn spinner 👍 I was at a Quilt exhibition in Duxford air museum grounds Sunday with a quilting friend & got hooked on a demo of ruler quilting & came away with a basic kit & extra ruler £75 & I’ve only just started EPP hexagon cushion cover topper as a change from knitting & crochet hand sewing is very calming & therapeutic for me so why did I need to get this sewing machine quilting kit ( winters coming ) 🤣😅🤣😅 Well it had to be bought it’s been to hot to play with it so far this week saving it for cooler days 😂 sometimes I’m in awe & hold myself back from crashing in & this is one of those times oh dear 🤔 Thank you for vlogging glad followers said hello

My mother always told me that I wouldn’t need to worry about how much people were paying attention to me if knew how much they weren’t. Most people would probably assume that you are FaceTime-ing with someone, and even if they didn’t, every third person is making content for one platform or another. Just record away in your car or wherever-we enjoy it! Also, I wish I had been shopping with you! There were so many options I would have loved for the SWMKAL.😊

Just a tip regarding your plait of spinning fibre. Before you start to spin with it undo the plait and steam it either over a boiling kettle or with a steam iron, holding the iron above the fibre not touching it. This will loosen it up and make it much easier to spin.

Thanks for taking us along! Next month my sister and I are going to Cusco, Perú for a fiber retreat and we will learn how to use drop spindles from the indigenous Quechua women. I am so looking forward to this trip. We lived in Lima, Perú 1968-1971 (I was age 12-15) and I remember going into the Andes and seeing Quechua women walking along either spinning or knitting!

I went to the Southern Wool Show with my daughter and daughter in law, they couldn't believe all of the different colours. It was the first time for them at a yarn show and they loved it, as I knew they would. I got yarn from Birdstreet Yarn, because I have never knitted with their yarn, despite following them for a long time. Also got yarn from The Lace Knittery as I hadn't seen them before and it was beautiful. Also some more yarn, ok lots of yarn 😊. It was a great show and everyone is just so friendly.

This was my very first yarn show! I was the original kid in the sweet shop - I went from stall to stall saying "oooh!" at everything, squishing All The Yarn and having a wonderful time. All the stall holders were so lovely (and very patient at all the squishing - I'm not sure I would be, in their position). In the end I didn't buy all that much (indecision wins!), but that's OK because *there will always be more yarn* :-) And it was lovely to be able to say hello to you too! I think you were very brave being there on your own (as you were when I saw you), it must be very weird having people there "know" you when you don't know them. (And yes, the food and drink was a bit rubbish - packed lunch next year, for sure!)

Hello from Australia 🇦🇺 😊 thanks for a wonderful vlog again Ali. I may join you ‘down the rabbit hole’ with your spinning. I hope you, at some stage, show us your adventures in spinning on your channel too. BTW I loved the Nano eel or wheel. Great idea for a beginner to get a taste of spinning before committing to purchasing a higher priced wheel. 🌺
