Putin's hate against NATO is absolutely not paranoia, he does not fear any attack from any NATO country because he knows there is not the slightest intention to attack Russia from any NATO country. This is just an excue he presents. The reality is Russia simply cannot bully any NATO country and that's what really bothers them. Russia has to treat even the small former Soviet republics like the Baltic states as genuine sovereign countries and the cannot coerce them or threaten them with anything. That is the real salt in their wound.
