I am the honest vocal coach! I have been teaching for 15 years and been singing since I was 16. I teach from my own studio and also teach and mentor via email, and online via Live & Skype. I specialise in teaching children, and teenagers pop and musical theatre but I am trained in all genres of music. I have studied every voice technique there is, including Speech Level Singing, Estill, Bel Canto, Robert Lunte, London College of Music, ABRSM, Ria Keen, Kim Chandler, Stevie Van Lange and many more. I have been around!
In 2008 I wrote the Vocaltutor Guide, 21 set lessons for singing teachers to get started, learning to teach, and produced 3 vocal exercise CD/Downloads.

Mariah Carey: 5 octaves of supported notes, super fast vocal agility and good melismatic abilities paired with sense of melody and self written songs. Controls all of the vocal registers there are, including whistle register and fry. Great resonance and projection that makes her light soprano voice sound very powerful. Jennifer Lopez: 1 supported note, bad projection, no resonance, bad agility, has control over 2 vocal registers: chest and falsetto.

13:35 was from 1995 MSG and it was live as Mariah has never lipped through 90-96, it was just dubbed to make her sound louder since she was moving her mic too far away.

Yes, JLo is great at shaking her derrière, her team works miracles. Almost like a vintage Kim Kardashian. It makes sense she's a good dancer and has a good body. When you don't have to spend time writing or singing the songs you release, it's nice to spend time doing SOMETHING.

You can’t compare Mariah to anyone at her pinnacle. Since it’s the nature of voices to deteriorate over time I will always compare Mariah at her height when judging her against other vocalists. So, there really are only a few people on this planet that can actually fit that bill.

Natasha Romero, recorded backing vocals for JLO on Jenny From The Block and was in the studio with her. Don't compare people who literally didn't sing a word of their own music, to JLO. What Jlo did, Beyonce did, Rihanna did, and Britney Spears Did. That's that.

@@matutahoot Okay first things first. The point is that if you have these people singing a big part of your song, you should give them credit on the song title. Literally in every song you would think that she's the only one singing because she's the only one who get's credited. And second of all, Beyoncé does not ghost sing. She's a top vocalist. Queen Of Vegas no it’s defiantly dubbed, she’d never have had the mic that far away & wouldn’t have been so expressive. It’s obvious when Mariah is lipping as she’s less emotional plus until about 2006 when she’d lip (which was rare) she’d wave her had around to cover her face and looks awkward as she’s obviously embarrassed she’s not singing live.
