Can I just say how interesting this stuff is? This is an aspect of VO work that doesn't get a whole lot of attention, though it's literally everywhere.

I find it fascinating how we can all think immediately to some sort of advert, documentary, inspo porn, e learning, or customer service experience we've had like these types of voices are deeply engrained in our psyche and we hate some of them but either way it all goes into how tricky adverts really are and how much it is used to play into our emotions and thoughts.

That's true. A ton of voice actors talk about the fun stuff (which she obviously does too), but almost no one else talks about this kind of work.

I think most of us about popped a vessel at the last voice. 🤣 Least favorite part about a new job is that _every damn workplace_ has the last voiceover. 😭 (AuDHD, so my resume is a grocery list at this point)

This is incredible work! I felt something completely different when you used different tones. I didn’t think I was so socially programmed to react this viscerally to changes in voice and tone. Your chase voice makes me want to crawl out of my skin. 😂 It’s a compliment I swear 😂🪦

I quit my corporate job at the end of last year. With the FIRST PHONEME of the training module voice? I literally groaned aloud. Which is my way of saying, “Damn, you’re good at your job! That was instantly evocative!” 😂😂😂

Yeah, same. It's some seriously uncanny valley stuff, it completely doesn't sound like an actual person, it sounds like some kind of robot trying to imitate a person in order to sell you stuff and still being extremely, PAINFULLY obvious that it's trying to sell you stuff, and otherwise being very hollow and inhuman-sounding in its imitation.

Documentary narration is also used in skincare and perfume ads. Also a lot of pharmaceutical ads. Think ive seen it in a baby product ad too.
