Jungkook actually talked about the differences between singing in Korean and in English in a recent interview. He says, "Sometimes you have to bear down a little on your words to talk in Korean. Plus I’m from Busan, so I speak in a little bit of a low voice. I don’t have that when I use English, though, so it’s like there’s pros and cons. It’s easy to use your head voice when you sing in English as well, but it can be uncomfortable, while in Korean, if you try to sing higher using your head voice, it can sound a bit nasally sometimes. But at the same time, it can be hard to break old habits when I sing in English since I’ve always been singing in Korean."

I love that you mentioned the punk rock thing, because everyone in the fandom agrees that BTS should put out rock songs so Jin can belt his chest out LOL his voice would suit that style so well, thank you so much for this video!!

10:27 this is how I've been describing Jin's voice.. A lot of people say his voice is best for ballad songs but I think it is where his voice sits comfortably, but the quality and tone? is definitely punk rock.. I'd love for him to release maybe an acoustic rock song. 😍 I mean have you heard his bg voice in Dionysus? That screams rock! I feel giddy thinking about it 😍😍😍

Jungkook’s voice is sweet, but he can naturally use his skills to make the singing voice very rock, and the transition between true and false sound is also very smooth. He is a great singer.

5:34 actually Jungkook was recently asked about that in his weverse interview. here it is: Something about the way you sang in English probably made you hear your own singing in a new light. What was really cool about this video is that the three rappers were doing the lower harmonizations here! They don’t usually sing, so it was really neat to hear them sing and do so well with the vocalists! Thanks for your reaction today! As always, I love your BTS stuff. Yess, Jin's punk rock voice - perfect description. He's also really stable in live concerts so has my full respect. And yeah Jungkook is just... amazing. Jungkook's voice also sounds exactly like that at sweaty live concerts with full choreography, or jumping up and down in his PJs at 1am. His consistency and stability is really something else.

Jimin’s voice on their hip-hop songs is so different, it’s kindi raspy and husky which is his natural tone. I hope you guys could see some of it since it’s a really different side of jimin but I totally understand if hiphop’s not in your lane but if you do want to see it you can watch their “Ma City” live performance. about him everything is natural. natural beautiful feminine voice tone, high pitch ,raspy ,husky and deep. he sings so effortlessly in a beautiful way. some people mock him for having feminine vocal tone but i found its so beautiful. everyone is different people should accept it. without taking proper vocal training he sings so well. i heard that he olny take 6 or 1 year training?

Yeah that’s Jimin’s effects. He puts in a lot cry and squeaks, and also emotional effect. Jin has a a voice that he can make fit anything. Scratch that. All of them have different voices. The more you watch. The more you will see.

I think because this is a biased reactions🤣🤣🤣 they purely based on range and don't take into consideration any technique and expertise. belting notes and having a wide range does not automatically makes you a good vocalist. it's also about technique, dynamics, agility, flow, rhythm, style and experience. however, I still watched it🤣🤣🤣

Jimin's has multilayers to his voice and every layer keeps you intrigued and wanting to hear more of that beautiful sound coming out of his mouth. It’s interesting that you bough up the vowel shift in one of the phrases. To me, a Brit, I would sing it the same way that they did. Maybe they had that shift in vowel sound because the song is by a British group, or also maybe because Korean pronunciation of things is more similar to British than it is to American

Interesting observation. I would pronounce it like them as well & I also speak British English. I won't say that's how Brits say these words across the board (wayyyyy too many accents LOL) but it's a possible explanation for why they're pronouncing things like that.

FYI: They do everything on purpose when it comes to their vocals - it's deliberate choices. They have actually been talking about how much thought and practice they put into each song in some interviews they have done lately. I think one thing some people don't really understand about BTS is that the way they connect with the audience on an emotional level is part of their secret. Lots of people can be technically perfect singers but not everybody can convey soul. They can do both, and that's one reason why they are the biggest band in the world...

Also Jk mentioned he doesn't rely on vocal lessons instead he practices and discover his own style and I believe that goes for Jimin too. I like this kind of approach to singing because it's most common in my country. We are not bogged down by lessons and technique yet we have some of the best singers in the world. Yes I'm a Filipino! 💜

Exactly. I have noticed that a lot of vocal coaches who try to replicate the vocal line's singing are unable to match or capture the notes, but will generally explain this away by deflecting with more vocal explanations, or by stating how they had not practiced voice warming exercises prior to the reaction. Also, I have noticed that when the cited coaches identify the notes that the vocal line sings in, and tries singing the notes, it does not have conviction or soul. BTS definitely conveys soul and conviction repeatedly throughout their discography.

@@miniearmie339 I remember Jk stating this in an interview where Hobi was the interviewer. I recall Mary J. Blige had a similar stance as JK throughout her career and started adding vocal lessons in the late 2000s. Her voice and discography is also remarkable and unmistakable.

Jimin’s vocals really blows me away. Once he starts singing, I’m captivated. His voice has this special magic in it that is so unique, beautiful, emotional, rich and clear. Yes he only took vocal lessons as a trainee and then stopped so as to not lose his own vocal style and color. Instead he chose to continuously singly every chance he got and practice and now he’s incredible.

Does anyone have a link or article to *clarify* this story, because I keep seeing this repeated in the comments. It just seems unlikely that BigHit would not continue to make their Main Vocalist keep up his vocal training and support, especially when JK was 15-16 at debut. He would probably need a couple years to grow into his confidence as an artist and especially singer. Source article please? Thanks!

Jungkook (purple mic) actually has a very very clear and effortless way of singing as you noticed and mentioned . He is the main vocalist of the group and does most of the runs , adlibs and harmonies . For performances , I think BTS Room Live and 'Your eyes tell' would be a good watch .

I want Jin to belt soooooo much!!! I hope they make that happen. In regards to the vowel sounds, I think 2 of them are from Daegu and 2 are definately from Busan and the other 3 are from different areas. Each location have their own dialect, so you may hear that in the vowel songs, particularly V I think. But from what I understand they use a Seoul dialect when working. They always have a go at each other when they've gone home on break and come back. Because they automatically revert to their home dialect and have to take a few days to get back into a uniformed dialect.

I highly recommend "Your Eyes Tell" it is mainly vocals with a little bit of melodic rap and Jungkook also helped in composing this song. I think you two would enjoy the song and the vocals are phenomenal 💜💜💜

Again and again these 7 show how much they love music and love what they choose to sing. When they show emotion I feel that is because the music/lyrics have touched them personally in some way. Since, if you watch their MV, they each can react differently to what they are singing.

If you want to hear more of Jimin's voice, the one on the left end you said uses more breath and sings softer than the others, go back and listen to some of their older songs, where he's singing hip hop or more aggressive rock. All of these guys, as you've observed, are phenomenal. What's amazing to me is that not all of them are natural singers! Many of them did only rapping or hip-hop and still had to take many lessons!!!

You guys talked about how jimin sings at the end of the notes which is a stylistic choice that most vocal coaches describes it almost like a 'cry' whenever they hear imin do it. He's not sick btw, my aunt is a vocal coach too and stated that he's singing with his chest voice & head voice you have also probably noticed by now that he has the highest tone of voice amongst members.
