The MPI engine seen with the trendline and comfortline is a decent performer. It returns a mileage of 14 km/L with the AC on open roads and 10 km/L in heavy traffic. Out on the highway, maintaining a speed of 80 and 100 km/h at most will return at least 18 km / L. while traveling from Bangalore to Pondicherry i could see a solid 20 km/L. Keep in mind that you'll need be easy on the gaz and stay close to 2000 or 3000 Rpm at most in the city and 3000 to 4000 rpm on the highway. That way you will definitely get the best out of the MPI engine. You can choose the MPI if you have a limited budget and dont mind the somewhat lethargic engine which is comfortable, safe with a good mileage. If easy pickup and pure thrill behind the wheels is your thing then make no mistake, the MPI engine will let you down. Chose the TSI instead.

If you're a driving enthusiast, it's a good choice. If you're looking for family use, get the Altroz or Figo. Maintenance of a VW is also not for the light hearted

Both are good option for enthusiastic drive. If you have limited budget go for Figo else Polo will be better choice.

Pros of polo over figo: 1. High revving turbo petrol with good top end 2. 6th gear. 3. Slightly better build quality Pros of Figo diesel over Polo 1. It's a diesel, it gives insane mileage. I get around 30kmpl in highways with smooth driving. 2. It's a newer car then the polo, hence a bit more spacious than the polo, especially rear space and head room. 3. Ford's Servicing costs are transparent and much cheaper compared to VW 4. It's cheaper than the polo but has more features, 6 airbags, push start, auto headlamp etc. 5. If you buy the freestyle (same price as polo) you get TCS, ESP as well. Personally I would choose the freestyle for the added safety of ESP and TC, it would be also more comfortable then the polo or figo. Can't comment on the lightness as I have not driven the Polo TSI but I find the figo's controls quite light, however it's not Maruti or Hyundai level lightness. If light controls are very important to you then, maybe add the grand i10 nios turbo to your list, the non turbo model I drove was very light and pretty comfortable over bad roads. Between the polo and figo, I would take the Figo diesel, it's much more practical. The turbo petrol Polo would have to provide a much better driving experience to justify the price Vs features and higher running cost.

You have to decide whether you really need a diesel. Both fuel cost the same now. Try petrol Figo too

Loved driving both, but the Polo is slightly better in stability and tautness.

I have not driven this new tsi, but for nexon, we have took delivery, it's really amazing, it is now punchy to drive and it response well in both acceleration and handling if you drive enthusiastically, if mileage is not your concern, by driving like this, you can feel the extra power and you will get a mileage of 11-12 kmpl.

Yes you are right...In my new polo tsi 1.L Highline plus facing issues...Only two routine check ups has done but car suddenly drops the pick up with EPC warning and sometimes not able to switch on AC or heater without any warning..and its been one month still waiting for parts...

It's just been launched sir.
