I have a D4-260 engine on my boat and would like a request if you could make a video instruction on how to calibrate the fuel sending unit with the Volvo gauge system without the use of Vodia. The best, easy, and accurate way to calibrate fuel sending unit with Volvo fuel gauge. I know there are many people out there who will be interested in this video. Thank you.

Hi Ted when I got boat I drained what was in there and pickled it and changed the starter and alternator pulled glow plugs and turned it over by hand and did everything I think I needed to do . I got it started and it ran pretty and then I got a bunch of faults so I decided to change the main wiring Harness and that got rid of most of them except this on which I think is the fuel injectors the code is MID 128,SID 5,FMI 6 the SID # changes from 1-5 after I reset the computer it runs great for like 20 minutes and then that code pops up I also had the computer (EECU)checked and they told me it is working fine . I can really use any suggestions sorry for the long story thank you for your help
@@michaelbenn9237 The codes indeed are for the injectors and FMI 6 is a "short" code between the two injector wires. If you have changed the engine wiring harness (which includes the injector harness) Then I would cut the battery power, disconnect the ECU connector and test for resistance for each injector harness high and low wires. they all should read about 180 ohms each (you can start by unplugging the injectors and seeing if you get consistent readings for each individually). If you get readings that are not consistent then the injectors may have gotten water in them and are now the cause. If you find that testing them separate and with the harness gives you the same readings then they are the cause. Hope this helps

Hello Lilly, Unfortunately I do not. I have not worked on a newer electronic Glendinning with EVC only the older mechanical versions used with mechanical diesels. For early EVC A-C systems Volvo used a potentiometer in the remote control, so using a short control cable controlled by the Glendinning MAY be how it is set up (not sure). I did find an early (2003) Glendinning operators manual which may walk you through it. www.glendinningprods.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/eec_ops_instructions_v5.pdf You can also try reaching out to Glendinning, I have spoken with them on occasion for troubleshooting and they are very helpful.
Hi Ted. Quick question about D3 secondary fuel filters. My mechanic fitted later model D3 filters to my earlier model 2007 D3 190hp diesels. Since then I’ve got power issues. Could the wrong fuel filter starve the engines?
@@tedsmarinerepair8956 great thanks. I’ll go and change them and see if we get improvement. I think it was an apprentice that was told “change the fuel filters on the D3s” and he picked up the wrong ones
Hii Sir I have a problem in My Marine Engine When I am trying to start the engine in some times total powersupply of that engine evc is going to off? also some times itself going to off after that Remove the power supply from power supply unit wait 10&15mnts again its normally possible starting please help me sir
@@vichusvichu2779 It may be a faulty power supply module, if you have twin engines try swapping them to see if the problem moves to the other engine with the module
