Hi Ted, thanks for your videos! I am from Brazil and could learn a lot from you! I get a fault code in my Volvo Penta D3 EVC-C saying MID 140 PPID 395 FMI 6. It seems to be a circuit break but not sure if it is wires or in the EVC it self. I would appreciate your help! Thanks again
I have 2 2005 Volvo 8.1 Gi engines in my silverton convertible and when I go about 2000 rpm and bring throttles down fast back to idle they stall out, but if I bring them down slowly they don’t stall. Any idea? Thanks in advance
Hi I hv a Volvo Penta 500kva (TAD1641GE) RPM is fluctuating in seconds 1500 to 1400 and back to 1500. Engine is hunting, and ita without load. We checjed all fuel lines, injectors, all sensors. Any suggestions?
We have D6-330 a-e with evc-c the 20 Amp circuit breaker trips we upluged the pcu an the breaker stopped tripping you can smell burnt electrical. Is likely to be just a bad pcu are shorted wiring down stream?
It is possible. Power contines through the PCU to the HCU(s). I would leave the PCU plugged in and unplug the x2 connector to the HCU. Try again if the breaker trips you need a PCU. If it doesn't unplug the x2 @ the HCU. If it still trips its in the harness going to the HCU.
@@tedsmarinerepair8956 if Preprogrammed PCU installed and harness good, no code pops up, are we good to go? Or do we need additional testing, programming from Volvo?
Hello Sir, My activate station helm light is always lit on my evc-c3. I took the evc single installation control panel off and saw a sticker on the back that didn't match the part number in the volvo manual. The part number 21310162 is what it should be and instead the sticker shows 21310173. The only place i see that part online is from Russia. The part does look exactly the same.
After you turn the key on and the system boots up (LCD shows data) then you enter calibration mode. If it fails you may have a control issue. Check for codes.
Several possibilities (no guessing on this one). You need a tech to run a diagnistic check under the same conditions with a Vodia scan tool to determine what parameter is the cause.
Dear sir, I am facing Check EVC system 1 on both engine plus Limited steering Limited Rpm. I have engaged local Volvo Penta representative to do diagnostic and check at least 4 times but problem still there…. Please help 🙏🙏🙏
@@tedsmarinerepair8956 ok thanks, i will try and send a video. I have had a mechanic adjust manually at the cable end but he says its at its limit and the lowest he can go on the thread
hello i want to ask, i work on tugbut boat and the engine is volvo penta D16 MH, for now the condition of my engine is in trouble, when the engine is operating the handle suddenly turns off, and can't start again please help
Sorry but I don't understand what you mean when you say "the handle suddenly shuts off" does the engine shut off, does the reverse gear come out of gear.....?
I have a 2005 5.0GXI which idles at 900rpm to 1000rpm on the hose after advancing the throttle and returning back to neutral. The engine cover sticker says 600rpm. I changed the IAC and checked to see if the throttle body was sticking. Cant figure it out. I wonder if there is something like this causing the IAC to increase the rpm?
@@tedsmarinerepair8956 Ok, thanks for the reply. I did replace that recently with a new unit but have had the same issue. Motor runs really smooth and starts right up but RPM is just not where it should be. Love your content and insight on these marine engines. Will continue to like, comment, and subscribe.
@@tedsmarinerepair8956 yes, thats exactly what happens. Initial startup is perfect. Idle settles to normal and stays there but as soon as the throttle body is advanced and then released it doesn’t return to the normal idle and stay at 900-1000. Ive replaced the fuel pressure regulator, pulled the fuel rail, lines, and injectors cleaned them thoroughly. I did find paint chips in one injector so after cleaning I replaced the fuel cell as well. I did new fuel lines to the tank and fittings. The engine runs great but the idle is just not at or near 600. I feel its something with the ECU. The only sensor I pretty much haven’t replaced is the crank position sensor but would it even run as perfect as it does if that failed? Yes it is repeatable any time its started and I cant find or hear any vacuum leaks that would allow more air into the engine.
@@jesong It does sound like a TPS fault due it idles fine on start up. If it had a vacuum leak it would have a high idle on intial start. You need a scan tool to check what the TPS voltage. It could also be a poor ecm ground. Check the ground wires on the back of the flywheel housing. Remove, inspect, clean and reinstall them.
@@tedsmarinerepair8956 Thank you.Unfortunately, I can not eliminate the blow, when turning on the move. I think it is possible to do this by reducing the speed. DPH-A 1.95 350 hours of work
