Hi Ted, I work at a shop and we are just getting into EVC controls and im trying to figure out how to hook up this 8.1 GI to run it. But everything ive tried has no different result. Its a single throttle and it just flashes a hazard sign and ive got no response from my key to my AKI and my screen has no display. No clue what im doing wrong
When I try to auto configure my single engine D4-300 (EVC-D) I get through the "Auto configuration in progress" step and restarts, but then when it shows the engine selection I can do nothing but hit back, the rest of the buttons on the screen does nothing. Does that mean that everything is done and saved when I hit back or is there anything else I need to do to save the changes? Thanks!
We have a twin engine d6 330s with a evc-d system we are troubleshooting a short/open in x2 cable we know it goes to the two hcu"s. Does it also go to the scu? Fault mid 250 paid 393 fmi4
Yes power is distributed from the pcu to the hcu and scu. Mid 250 is the scu and ppid 393 is the evc bus fmi 4 is low voltage. My question is that for fmi 4 it lists it for a sus (IPS) not a SCU (Joystick sterndrive). Either way it appears to bevoltage drop at the scu/sus unit. I would first Check for corroded/pushed out pins,
We replaced a bad pcu traced all the wires to the scu and the hcu engine cranks a runs we recalibrate and auto configuration the the code MID 250, PPID 393, FMI0 Comes up when the key switch is turned on. Does this code need to be cleared or if the problem is fixed will it go away. Hooked up break out box and checked voltage and frequency and everything checked out.
All power and grounds come from the PCU there is a main power feed and a backup power feed which may not show full 12 or 24volts. If you have no power into the HCU check on engine fuses and the DC to DC converter (Diesel)
I have a EVC E set up in twinV8-380-CE-D engines. My port drive is stuck in reverse. Can’t get it out. No codes. Engine will start with the drive in reverse. It is stuck in reverse o matter what commands are given thru controller or joy stick. Any ideas?
I just installed a garmin reactor 40 SBW system and the gateway is not communicating with my steering system. Garmin display says…. “Autopilot Controller Lost” I have gas engines/stern drives with joystick. Should I try an auto configuration? Garmin is telling me it’s a Volvo software issue and to contact authorized dealer to download software using a vodia computer. Can anybody please help??? Thanks
Do you have the Volvo NMEA 2000 interface box installed? If so try an autoconfig. If that does not work, then yes, you need a dealer to come down with the Vodia tool to see what is missing
Hi Ted Thanks for the quick response. I do not have the Volvo NMEA 2000 interface box installed. What exactly does that interface do? And can I purchase and install it without hooking up a computer?
