Thanks to Lettuce, Purple Hat Productions, and Live For Live Music, we’ll see you Funk Fools next year! www.foolsparadisefl.com Vulfpeck, Corey Henry and Antwaun Stanley
Woody picked up the guitar, and was bewildered with the piece of musical instrument in his hands. ''Wait? The strings are on the outside? I thought I had to press keys!'', he said to himself. Woody looked at the crowd and saw many cheering fans jamming to It Gets Funkier, he becomes more nervous as he realized he's in the front of everyone, he was center stage, with an instrument, so alien to him. He tried to replicate what his friends did on the instrument, only to make a noise so bizarre, he couldn't take it, and never tried it again. ''Jack!'', he mouthed, but Jack was so in tune with the song and couldn't see Woody. Woody had no choice but to try to this weird ancient wood. ''Why are there no keys?'' he wondered. ''What do I do?'', once again he failed to utilize this piece. Finally, the chorus came one, and Woody's head clicked, like he's just got connected to the world again. He put down the guitar, while giving it one last look of wonder, and head towards home, The Wurlitzer. When he sat down again, he became relieved. His hands are on the keys, shaped to the right position, ready to strike, and at that point, he became one with the keys again, and all his worries and doubts faded. He was home, once again.
You know that you're watching top-notch musicians when they go from starting a song without people knowing the lines or even knowing which instrument they're supposed to play to then nailing it with a sweet jam!
Just imagine a concert with Bernard Purdie, Cory Henry, Woody Goss, Joe Dart and Antuan Stanley. People say that even god hasn't had the pleasure of hearing them together.
I think since Cory doesn’t really know the Vulf songs and is completely improvising, he may be using the bass to figure out the chord progression and whatnot, hence the looks. Just my assumption though.
Corey just picks up It Gets Funkier while playing, amazing ears. I'm sure Theo tells him the A section chords at the start, but when they hit the B section he just figures it out
Cory Henry taking matters into his own hands. Turn up my keys - doesnt happen - OK I'll turn them up myself - still cant hear them - Alright, just let me play drums
I read your comment and was like: nah shut up dude...jokin around...then I checked the whole video and when I saw him siiting at the drums I completely freaked out :DDD
How did you get this recording, it's two difrent recordings but did you do it or is it something official? It's the best gig they've done and this is the best recording
