it is very important that the cylinder head bolts are lubricated, otherwise the tightening values will not be correct due to the increased resistance, which can lead to engine failure

Which part did you need to remove to acces the upper left bolt for the exhaust manifold?

Also make sure that the 1st cylinder piston is all the way up

What kind of torque wrench do you use?

Cheapest one I found, it had just been calibrated and the settings were from 5Nm above

Do old valves actually work for locking the engine? I was looking at the tool meant for the job and it costs ~100€ in Finland.
