That's the reason I came back to VW after a 20 years hiatus 😂😂😂 My last VW was a 1998 GTI VR6 that I bored to 2.9 with euro pistons, euro intake manifold, schrick 268 cams and exhaust just to put down 225 hp.
You alright? Its been awhile...... how is the s4 doing? Looking forward for an update, you were .1 away from your goal. Dont give up........ Hope to see you out there soon.
Needed to take a break for my mental health as well as my financial well-being. We've been filming all summer long and will start releasing videos again soon. Sadly, the S4 is currently being sold.
@@VancityAudi No !!!!!!!!!! What about our 9 second pass? I understand, the car game isn't cheap. I loved watching your journey with both S4's, your a blessing and an inspiration. Stay blessed and be well.
@@CarltonRodney-p7h Thank you. I gave up on having a 9 second B9 S4 months and months ago. With the sheer volume of Stage 3 B9 S4's, S5's and SQ5's blowing up, I don't have the financial means to go through any other engine failures.
APR has V-Tech kick in at the end haha. You truly are doing gods work here for us. I will just assume that results would be similar if it was done with the R. I’m really liking what Unitronic is doing
I love your videos! If the cars will make that kinda torque with e85, I honestly think you can run the 87/93 stage 1 tunes (without low torque files). I'm probably not the only person that would also love to see those results. Different tuners can use different factors to limit torque, so I'd be really interested to see how they all stack up against each other with the full-on tunes. If not I understand. Just a suggestion, but I really do love your videos and hope to see many more with this platform. I have a 2024 380 se gti, and I follow you weekly and will be deciding my tuner off of your videos.
Another great video. What is the maintenance schedule on your car with all this dyno runs? oil change interval , spark plug change interval , spark plug gap . Have you done a DSG service?
I've never understood where this description came from for Unitronic tunes. I've been using their software since 2016 and have NEVER seen it as conservative.
@@VancityAudiI think they’ve gotten the “conservative” reputation because they use more timing and less boost, and so on butt dyno they feel like they have less kick. At least that’s what I’ve seen on previous gens
@@VancityAudithat was the old conservative unitronic. If you had worked with them in early 2000s and up to mk7-mk7.5 GTI and golf R platform it'd be more clear. Mid boost and higher timing was their thing while keeping real good drivability. The rest of the tuner companies cranked out boost, high timing and throttle sensitivity. It wasn't until daza motor came around that they started changing toward being more aggressive, locking in that platform, now mk8 and rest of the platforms (this is all more recent). It's worked out really well for them regardless.
😢 sorry! Been going through the ringer with life and haven't been able to edit any of the footage I've shot. Plus some other delays we've seen. With that said I have a bunch of videos shot already, and they just need to be edited now.
@@VancityAudi I completely get it Adam. No worries! Life and family always takes priority. I look forward to what you have up and coming. My father always said "patience is a virtue". We will be here when you drop the next one!
@@VancityAudi I don't understand the expression very well, I'm not a native English speaker, but I'm still looking forward to that new graphic material. Good luck and we will wait for you
Nice all of this without a huge modification..my guess is once you finish modify you hardware my guess your car should touch 680..let see the future videos....great work Adam!!
@@VancityAudi oh sorry, the drag racing event At Bremerton raceway. It popped up on my Facebook and looked like you were interested in going. It’s like 5 minutes from the house…
So what did you need to change to run E85? Do these cars have ethanol sensors? Did you need to change spark plugs or injectors, is the E85 usage covered under APR's warranty?
@@VancityAudi Literally no you didn't, not in this video. I watched every second of it and you never mentioned anything about the warranty, spark plugs, injectors, or e85 sensor.
@om606channel 😂😂😂 you need to work on your comprehension of the English language then. I literally say that ALL OF THE HARDWARE IS STOCK during the disclaimers. As for the warranty question, you are correct, I didn't answer that one. My bad! The only tunes that APR offers warranties with are their APR PLUS tunes which are shown in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8rIRQ4NvOWs.html
Ethanol is fantastic at compensating for intercooling deficits, especially at higher concentrations. Which is why it’s not super surprising to see such huge gains over 93 on stock hardware. On a side note, some of those torque curves are gross, while others are quite nice. I may have missed it, but were you noticing repeatable dips between the 3 runs on those companies calibration that has them? Cheers
The adding cooling benefits of ethanol didnt benefit me like you are stating in this comparison. My IAT's were really low already due to the weather conditions I tested in. If I were to have tested in the heat where the OEM intercooler was being stressed, then I'd agree with you. As for the second part of your comment, I'm not sure what you're asking.
@@VancityAudi where is the IAT located? And what was the delta between AAT and IAT? On the calibrations that had the huge torque dips, was it repeatable from run to run (of the 3 that you did on each).
@JordieG8 you can always tell who actually watches the videos and who just scrolls through to the results by the questions they ask, lol. On every single company's dyno pulls I share the maximum IAT reached. No, the torque did not vary all over the place between the 3 runs. The graph was extremely consistent from run to run. As I mentioned and shared in the video, the environmental conditions I tested in were incredibly good.
@@JordieG8And you're a know it all YT commenter hey? None of these cars saw any timing corrections due to the IAT's. I know that an intercooler will benefit each of these tunes in terms of making consistent power delivery. If there was an intercooler installed, we wouldn't be anywhere near that delta. In terms of what I showed on the dyno though, the peak IAT's did not cause any loss of power which was what I was showing in this video.
I really like the performance of Unitronic’s flex tune on my TTRS. I certainly have my criticisms of them but they’re nothing if not responsive and helpful.
I just switched back to E85 on my TTRS. It’s such a dramatic difference than stage 2 93. I got a question when I switched there two different times that say “use at your own risk” I’ve read for drag racing prepped track and such. I have a deserted road that’s about a 3/4 mile all to myself. Would that tune be good for there? I’ve read in forums that people use the tune with no problems just wondering if you used it. Its Unitronic. Thanks Vancity!!
@skywalk3x ohhhh, those. Basically that ramps up your boost on launch. Too much boost on an unprepped surface will more than likely cause excessive wheelspin. The other factor would be launching with more boost on launch is more likely to break something.
@@VancityAudi I tell you Vancity you’re so generous with your time to answer some questions. You’ve answered me now a few times even when I wasn’t directly asking you. I’ve been on RU-vid for years and I subscribe to a lot of channels and you’ve been one of the best RU-vidrs because I feel you generally want to help people. I appreciate everything you do yo your videos to just being a nice guy. Thanks so much and you have a subscriber for life!
@@skywalk3xI really appreciate the kind words! Just know that I'm actually an a$$hole in real life, and this online persona is just a trick! Thanks for watching!
My DSG wasn't happy with any of the ethanol tunes until I performed a basic settings adaptation of the transmission. It drives much better now, but I'm not sure it will stay that way with the torque level of these tunes.
@@VancityAudi Oh damn. I was going to go with the APR stage 1 87 low torque tune because of the warranty. Did the lower power/torque tunes feel any better?
@@VancityAudi still waiting on that video hope all is well with you in yr personal life ended up tuning my mk8 gti with 034 stage 1 91 based on yr video love the tune
As I discussed in Part 3 of my Tuner Battle Series, Unitronic offers both a GBX file and a Low Torque file that works with a locked TCU. When I asked what files they'd like me to showcase, they wanted to see the GBX in action. If you want a lower torque tune, that is available on their server.
