Without a headlight wiring loom upgrade, driving a Volkswagen T4 in the dark can feel like being guided by a candle in a jam jar. Your headlights ARE NOT WORKING to their full capacity, and I'm going to show you why. You don't need to buy illegal LED headlights, upgrade your headlight loom instead.
Many Volkswagen T4 vans are around 20-25 years old and over time the headlight wiring looms can degrade. This causes a build-up of resistance in the wires which is stopping the full voltage of your battery getting to the headlights.
Using a headlight wiring loom upgrade (amzn.to/2U4RGBY) you can restore those lost volts, connecting your headlights more directly to the vehicle battery. It uses the existing headlight wiring to switch a pair of relays on and off, which in turn supply the power to the headlights.
As you will see in the video, your original wiring loom might only be supplying just over 10 Volts to your headlights. Using a wiring loom upgrade you can get that voltage back up closer to the 12 Volts that your headlights need to work properly.
With a wiring loom upgrade, you don't need to buy new bulbs to get a better view of the road, although buying premium headlight bulbs after you upgrade the loom will make night driving even better. I recommend OSRAM Night Breaker Laser bulbs (amzn.to/3eJtrB9). I have been using Nightbreaker bulbs for more than 10 years and fit them to all my vehicles.
