PLACE SOME SEALANT ON THE CORNERS OF THE CAM RING (WHERE IS CHANGES FROM FLAT TO CURVED) BEFORE SEATING THE GASKET, ONCE THE GASKET IS IN PLACE ADD SOME MORE SEALANT (ON TOP OF THE GASKET) TO THE CORNERS OF THE GASKET WHERE IT GOES FROM FLAT TO CURVED TO GO OVER THE CAM RING.
I USE DIRKO GREY SEALANT AVAILABLE AT EURO CAR PARTS.

I recommend an Elring gasket and breather valve grommet. I tried with Febi parts, but I found they tend to leak, both the gasket and grommets.

For anyone struggling your also ment to put RTC grade sealant in the corners of the gasket where it goes over the cam shaft. Great video keep it up.

I added that step to the description after forgetting to use sealant during filming. I also added a link to a video showing where to place the sealant. I thought I had pinned a comment telling viewers to look in the description. I'll pin your comment now.

Wow, brilliant video, I have the same problem, 3 times I have had to done and after a while it leaked oil again. I have no torque wrench. But I am going to try and do this myself.....

Don't forget to add some sealant around the cam ring, above and below the gasket. I have added further details in the description. Dirko grey sealant is a good one to use.

Glad it helped. Don't forget to add a small amount of sealant around the cam ring. I forgot to film that part I have added a link to another video to show where the sealant goes.

Don't forget to add some sealant around the cam ring. I forgot to show that part but do mention it in the comments. This video is a good guide ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0mYd82Y6nqQ.html A lot of gsskets are not very good, I tried with a Febi gasket a couple of times and it always leaked, I eventually bought an Elring gasket and no problems. Also, the replacement rubber grommet was original VW and it leaked, I bought an Elring one and it was fine. Even the rubber washers on top of the cover leaked so I replaced these again with Elring ones and they have not leaked.
