WADE MORSE INVITATIONAL BLUEGRASS SOIRÉE MUSICALE: (A Bluegrass Jam)

A HIGH DEFINITION BLUEGRASS SOIRÉE IN BEAUTIFUL CENTRAL FLORIDA. (720P-HD)
An amazing banquet of all kinds of food to nourish the body and music to feed the soul thanks to hosts, Wade and Lavergne Morse. These gracious bluegrass lovers invited musicians and other friends to their picturesque home near Sanford, Florida to pick, savor great food, and enjoy each other's company. .
When I tried to find a word to describe the occasion of such a special jam, "soirée" seemed to fit. By definition it means: a party or social gathering, especially one held for a particular purpose: a musical soiree. Origin: 1810--20.; usually an evening event, as these often are.
THE MUSICIANS: Several have frequently attended the OCOEE PARKING LOT BLUEGRASS JAM, which has a RU-vid channel with over one hundred videos of many of its Friday night parking lot jams. You can find it by simply clicking on the VIVATONES66 link above.
FROM LEFT TO RIGHT (as you view video)
Bill Phillips - guitar. cowboy hat, blue shirt
Steve Houston - mandolin, cap, sandals
James Rogers - banjo
James "Wormy" Pierce (vocal on "Mule Skinner Blues")
Bill Barnard - guitar
Nancy Pierce
Patrick Moran - Dobro
Lester Canada - fiddle

I'm a 16 year old city girl, and I adore bluegrass. You guys are talented, energetic, and infinitely happy. I just gotta keep practicing my fiddle so I'll be good enough to jam with folk like you all! For now, I'll be dancing and signing along. You can leave it to me to share the joy of bluegrass with everyone I meet!

Great event and the video with wonderful audio plus professional editing was the frosting on the cake. Thanks to Lester, with his always great fiddling! Love it all. At 60, I now prefer bluegrass over all other types of pickin' for sure. But what I see at marker 14:30 is a good example of why Charlie Parker started playing an electric guitar in the jazz days, right? Even a powerful dreadnaught gets covered up in a group setting. Outstanding bunch of players....talented entertainers having a great time.
@vivatones66
@vivatones66 8 лет назад
+Big Al I think you've summed it up perfectly. I also can see why a jazz lover would find nuances in good bluegrass. A truly good picker can play both I believe.

It is a stunning performance of your really great 58 minutes 35 seconds. (Will make you feel which you are a participant. It is a beautiful song and singing and playing. We are impressed by the sound quality and beautiful picture) and I feel very strongly love for music of all of you. It is a super video production configuration that best enhance the open-air concert ensemble (impressed by the beautiful sound of the banjo sound) banjo acoustic guitar lyso story over guitar violin bass. Charlie Parker playing electric guitar? Really? I think maybe you mean Charlie Christian.
@vivatones66
@vivatones66 8 лет назад
+d ged You could have something there. Wasn't Charlie "Yardbird" Parker a sax man? Interestingly, Charlie Christian, known as "father of the jazz guitar" backed Charlie Parker at one time. Christian brought the guitar into the electric age. While there are some great artists who have mastered electric instruments, The Parking Lot is an example of why I preferred to record acoustic music.
