Real ID is a federally compliant form of identification that meets higher security standards for air travel and accessing federal facilities. Enhanced ID, in addition to being Real ID compliant, allows for easier cross-border travel to Canada, Mexico, and some Caribbean countries by land or sea without the need for a passport. The states that offer Enhanced IDs are Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Vermont, and Washington.
Originally from Niagara Falls but live in Florida now since retiring from the Navy. Had to laugh when you mentioned El Paso, because US 62 starts at the border in both the Falls and El Paso.
