Hello and good afternoon. Wanted to share a recent build for a walking stick. Back in mid 2022 we took a trip to Scotland and wanted to create a stick to commemorate the trip with a stick that has the location of a great town we visited on the west coast of Scotland, Gairloch. The stick has some epoxy work, woodburning and finished with a rub on Polyurethane. Turning out great and looking forward to another trip back to Scotland... great food, beautiful scenery and fantastic people!

Hi Jason I live not far from where you got the stick in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 love your educational videos. Haste ye back is an old Scottish saying from the highlands where my wife comes from Inverness. 👍

Thanks! Actually the stick is from here, couldn’t bring anything back on the plane… just inspired by the beauty of the area! Inverness was a beautiful city as well!

Coming from the UK and knowing what the most of the wood I find for walking sticks are, if not hardwood and not pine and I was to guess, I would say birch. *edit almost forgot to say love the videos, good work. Never thought of carbon paper printing for burning designs before that has given me a ton of new ideas 👌

An Arizona walking stick is just a rattle snake yanked out straight and used like that. (Don't forget to feed it occasionally or it gets cranky and difficult to use)

Love your channel, really inspiring. Watching from Haiti and working on my first piece, a cane from a branch of acacia auriculoformis. I'm done sanding (120 grit), I am now wondering if using terminalia catappa oil (I made by pressing the seeds) as finish is a good idea. Anyway, I guess I'll try and find out.
