There are so many problems with Walmart Spark that have become prevalent since the last update. Problems with getting orders, keeping the orders once one is accepted, seeing items, long wait times, etc.
This video addresses these problems and makes them known to Walmart through some bad publicity so they can start to work on them and make them better for all drivers.
I think that it's not right that there are so many people that use Walmart Spark as their main source of income and now the app is getting all sorts of messed up and impacting people's lives.

Thank you for addressing the bullcrap going on with Spark!! It really has become a shit show! I am literally not making any money anymore. No orders for 3-5 hours and then I will get one for like 15$. Who can afford to even do this anymore?

Thanks for your comment. I agree it's such a shit show. I've heard from a bunch of gig worker friends that they aren't making much money like used to be $800+ a week and now it's a struggle to make $300. I'm finding every gig app i can so people can have other options. I'll be posting those videos soon so we can boycott walmart for being a POS.

you are right. The app is having all kinds of problems. My today was says I have an order but won't show it on the app. Also the 3 delivery thing is awful less money and you can do less orders in day as it takes so long. Walmart needs to let their customers know half of our income thru tips.

Thanks for sharing what's been going on for you. I agree the 3 delivery thing is total BS and the pay keeps decreasing. Walmart is screwing us over and needs to let customers know that tips are Necessary on orders to make them worth it to drivers

straight to the point, great video, also want to add shop and deliver orders, app takes you to perishable items first and it keeps alternating back to non perishable items in the mix. now i have to look at my items and one by one pick the non first and then do the cold section items last which takes time to go in and out of the order.

Yeah, I agree. Thanks for your comment. I've been doing spark for a few years and it used to be better at the beginning. They are ruining it quickly and they are going to run in straight into the ground.

Agreed. Since the update back in July 2023. The app has been screwed for me. Acceptance rating tanked due to continuelessly sending out double orders. And also were my notifications would go off but in app no orders on the screen. And support was and is a joke. No help there.

Great video you definitely touch on the major problems and I had to deal with all of them. I did this app for a few years so when I started , it was so many orders sent at once you had time to look and pick. Now your thumb has to be faster than lightning to get thar one order lol. Customer service reps put you on hold and never come back because their not sure what to do, Acceptance rate is never right after accepting all orders, first come first serve comes across with the beep but I never see the offer, every time the app updates I don't get offers until i keep trouble shooting until one day it works smh. I came on here today to see if I could find a video with a solution but it looks like everyone is going through the same thing

I’ve talked and talked to Walmart support. Walmart is trying to take total control of their deliveries. A loader told me there is 6 minutes from check in to pick up. If the driver isn’t there but checked in the order gets cancelled. Support also told me that the AR system for a no longer in effect not only that but round robins and first come first serve count against you even though the app only says the last 50 round robins. I think they are looking at ways to eliminate drivers all together kind of like driverless cars for rideshare. Your best bet is to look for something else to make your money because I don’t think Walmart will be on the spark platform for much longer. That last part is just my opinion but look at what has been going on lately. It’s been crazy!

Must be your area. I accept an order and start it from 15 minutes away. I've taken up to 20 minutes to get there with no issues

Thanks for sharing Lisa. Have you experienced accepting an order at the 20-minute mark and 1 minute later it tells you the order is at risk of being reassigned because you need to start it - only you can't start the order because of the stupid check in time being later? I think they are changing things secretly and not letting drivers know and deactivating people more now. I'll have to see if i can get any more information from other drivers and from the company. spark drivers are just there to help machine learning to map out their delivery operations, once it's fully mapped out, spark will go poof sometime in the next 7 years and they'll just hire employed delivery drivers

the biggest thing for me, why aren't they just assigning orders, if these orders are pre-scheduled, why not let us pick and choose orders ahead of time so that botting isn't a thing, highest paying app, and walmart much rather watch bar fights over one order

I deliver in Alabama but for the last 3 days straight I log in and get the same spam ghost orders over and over. This will go on for hours before I might see a legit offer.

Yes to everything you’ve said! Also I am being asked to confirm my identity each and every time I log in, no matter if it’s multiple times per day. And the log-in itself is messed up. When trying to enter my email and password, the screen keeps clearing itself and I have to start over. Very frustrating!

I'm sorry that's happening to you. There was another update so check your app store and see if that helps out with this issue but I'm not hopeful it will fix anything.

God Damn!!!! You have mention literally every single one of my gripes with Sparks App. I have a few more but I will be making a video on that with proof coming frtom the customers screen and from mine. Lets just say it about Spark fraudulently misappropriating customer's tip money while simultaneously stealing tip money from that driver.

I forgot to mention I witnessed $6.50 extra for each delivery last night. That's never been seen in my area! If DD can pay that for inclimate weather they can pay it EVERYDAY.

The biggest problem I have is after 2pm I start getting orders from a Walmart that's 17 miles away from me and no matter how many times I reject them the app just puts them back so I'm unable to see orders for the store that I'm parked in front of or I see them right before someone else grabs it. Also about 30 times a day the app gets hung when a new order comes in, when I try to reject an order or just because it sucks. I would rather shop and deliver but they have issues also where a item is not available the app just goes on to the next item unless the customer suggest a replacement. If the customer texts and says can you get me X item instead there is no way for the shopper to add the item unless they do it on the app and 90% of them don't know how. It just seems even with the billions of dollars Walmart has they don't want to spend money on top of line app developers or hire and train enough people to properly get the job done. I'm sure most of there focus is on seeing what is the least amount they can offer a driver for an order that they will take.

When a item is out of stock like a shirt and you try to replace it with another size but it wont scan support says refund it or cancel the order and piss off the customer so crazy.

Quite frequently when I attempt to text a customer the phone number that pops up is for a previous customer so I can’t communicate with the current customer.

Yes I sing up for Walmart spark I have been like a month in a half try to got in order when schedule to stark and turning bon my spark like in a few minutes turn back off and I'm there at the parking spark I see 😢 so many drivers come just to got the orders and I just there wasting my time it's really piss me off but thanx for you videos I thought vinwas the only one having that problem 👍

Mine stopped working a cpl weeks ago. Ill get like 1-2 a day then the rest that come thru & i cant open them. Like now. Its sunday morning & im ready to work & all the orders that actually DO open are expired. Ive done everything available to troubleshoot it. This sucks!!!

Confirming identity is an issue. If the app freezes while taking photos, you can get deactivated. I'm waiting on Support to address how I can verify my identity because the app wasn't processing it. It's been a week of waiting and can't work.

Thanks for all your helpful videos! My metro is newer- however I notice they don’t do round robins very often- 99% of orders seem to be dropped as FCFS. At first I used to wait in the parking lot cuz of the “proximity” claim… but realized I can get the same chance at orders from home. Is this normal?

Thanks for watching! I haven't seen many zones that are ASAP or FCFS orders. Usually there is an "order drop" around the 20 minute mark in every zone. Have you always seen only FCFS orders or is this recent?

@@JustinMaxwellbiz We just started delivering here 6 weeks ago. The first 2-3 weeks a round robin would drop at :20-:30. Now for the last 3ish weeks the orders drop at :35- but they ALWAYS drop as FCFS- never with a timer. A couple times I literally was the only driver in the parking lot and missed hitting accept by a split second and then watched another driver pull in 10 minutes later that was nowhere in sight before. I called and asked them if we are not based on proximity here anymore and they said we are… but that’s not what I’m finding since 90% of the orders are all dropped FCFS to everyone. The only thing I’ve seen with a timer lately is shop and delivers- and GMD drops. My metrics are very good also- so I know it’s not that.

@@alanaconnolly2738 I'm in a rural community that also just started delivery about a month ago. There are many FCFS orders here also. They do seem to send out RR but there is no specific time they are doing this. Which is frustrating. My AR seems to be determined by all of the orders, not just the RR's. Also frustrating. I take practically every order when I'm Sparking yet my AR went from 79% down to 64% overnight. I literally took every order the day before. I'm not going to worry about my AR anymore.

My app won’t even open now . I got notification there were orders but I couldn’t open the app . Just stuck … didn’t work today Sunday because the spark app will not open.

Yes the app has been messed up and it never worked when I tried to sign up. They have withdrawn my application. I’ve had to reach out 3 times and once time they said they could verify my identity and the other instance was that I had a maximum of 3 attempts before I would be permanently removed from the ability of applying again.

Great info!! This is good to know others are exp same issues. You are exactly right...sometimes the steps help sometimes they dont . Its a roll 9f the dice. But, my mind keeps raising the question...could this be intentional? Is there a reason or explanation of why these situations are occurring intentionally? I just think evwry angle needs to be addressed and considered . Ruled out or given more attention . There have been so so so many times of repeated offers flooding an account from the farthest store from a drivers current location. Asap offers ...and driver is 30 miles from store. Ten offers at a time fliod the account. Driver goes to that store and offers stop and start coming from store they left . Which is now the store farthest away from driver. It happens to often in same way over and over. Also drivers in that store vicinity or at the store arent receiving offers a driver 30 miles away is receiving. Does spark send the elevated rates to drivers that arent able to reasonably accept the offer or have the least likelyhood of accepting this elevated offer? And does the rate drop back down to starting point when the highest offer is not accepted? Just curious about the process and some reason that these things happen regularly. Because it isnt sending the offer based on driver location...they are offers that would surely not be rejected by the people near the store much less be rising and repopulating in a drivers offer pool so quickly and at such a volume . 10 to 12 offers at a time. These sorts of things pose a question in my mind . It contradicts what is said to be the process or the way in which the platform operates and gives the driver some control over their earnings and participation which in turn classifies the driver as a self employed / contract worker. Also why doesnt a driver have any way of notating THEIR ACCOUNT? WHY DOESNT A DRIVER HAVE ACCESS TO THE TICKET LOG OR EVENT LOG OF THEIR ACCT?? WHY CANT DRIVER OR SUPPORT ACCESS A LOG AND FIND PRIOR ISSUES BY REFERRING TO AN ACCOUNT ALONE? EVERY ISSUE ,CALL,TICKET,ETC COULD HE LUSTED UNDER EACH ACCT AND EASILY REFERRENCED. Just some of the things i have windered about. Anyone else???

As far as I can tell from over a month of researching and hunting down bot leads - there aren't bots that actually exist. Just scammers trying to steal accounts and make quick money off of desperate drivers.

Deactivation is also out of control, I got deactivated for no reason and then no one could provide me with cause to state for appeal and the appeal process is a joke because they never respond.

What about when you forget to sign out of spark, and go to update the app, but then you can't sign back in because it says I'm logged in on multiple devices!! Which I am not. And now I been going back and forth with so many diff people from customer service sending tickets to techs. And I been getting nowhere! I haven't been able to make money in 3 days now!!!

All my Walmarts are fantastic. Like 10 ⭐️.. 5 Walmarts, 2 Sam’s clubs, and 1 Home Depot! I’m newer, having issues where either I have a delivery that, due to intense traffic takes upwards near 30 mins to get to get to the store, and it’s only giving me 5 mins to get there. Then it’s not factoring in time to deliver properly… today I had at least 15 third floor walk ups for deliveries. Now my metrics dipped again

I was doing great, then all of the sudden it stopped. November 13,2023: 2 orders 8:am-9pm. November 14, 15, 16th 2 orders each day. 8:00 am-9pm. Other drivers are getting 6-9 orders every day part time. I am at 100%on time, 98% acceptance rate, 0 dropped orders, 5.0 customer rating. Plus I stay in the center of the hot zone. Customer service does no help whatsoever.

Having same problem in n.c. low low paying runs and way to many on the platform. They want start delivery within Walmart and get rid of the gig worker that's what the ceo of Walmart said and out west they are doing just that.

The people over spark at my store don't even know how the app works and were reporting drivers for not notefy them we arrived when we have no means of doing so, or showing up too soon when we're just waiting to confirm arrival.

In my area, the “ghost” orders are fkn killing me. Is this from bots taking them and the system not able to update correctly? Idk but damn I’m tired of the stupid ass show up fee when I was supposed to get $15-20 or whatever for said order.

Other day I tried to pick up an order and they said one order HAD to go in the trunk and the other HAD to go in the back seat. Soo where does that third order go, Walmart? In the front seat with my lunch?? Yesterday they paid me $11.05 (no tip) to shop & deliver ONE 8oz bag of $1.98 lettuce. Hello, shareholders?!!

The app froze up on mine for 4 days it took 4 days to get somebody to shut it down on their end. Also my trips I had 98 trips I did 12 orders My trip went down to 97 in the metrics and then I did seven orders the next day and it went up to 98. And I have well over a hundred so that tells me where's the money for those trips. Why don't we get all the drivers to not deliver for a day or two get their attention

I would much rather do shop and deliver so I don’t have to wait for them to load my car. Accept at :20. Arrive at :45. Wait to load 15-20 min. Miss the next drop 🙄 Why can’t we pick up as soon as the orders drop?

i know a walmart secret, it's intentional wait time for a number of reasons, the 1st reason is to see if you'll drop the order, 2nd reason is to see if you're driving the same vehicle as in your profile and to see if you have passengers, it's why if you're in the parking lot before it let's you pickup the delivery it'll scold you for parking in the pickup lane when you weren't, it monitors and detects drivers parking lot wide

When I get a good order I start getting messages that I will lose the order if I do not start ,but when I try to start it is too early.. I hit the start button multiple times and sometimes it fixes it. Today I am not Sparking but keep getting orders. upstate SC

Maybe they have fixed this but I get that message also so I just his start and then it gives me all the time I need to get to the store.. once I get there I hit "arrived at store" and I'm able to start shopping.

They say you will get extra earnings for waiting for a order after checking in...lies!!! I've contacted support twice since black friday started..you are not able to see what the customer is getting before hand..such as tvs..so how can a driver accept an order that may be for 2 tvs and dont have the spacce in their car..i carry xl orders because of the size of my vehicles. And also walmart has upped the batch order since blace friday..the highest i have seen is a 21 order stop..no way!!! The.pay is crap!!

I went to pick up two orders at a Home Depot store. I drove approximately 9 miles, only to find out (after waiting nearly 15 minutes in a long line at the order pick-up counter) that the two orders were already picked up by another driver. Another 10-20 mins with support to report the issue and get compensated for my time and gas. I only got $2.90 for nearly one hour of my time and driving expenses. A total scam! (This happened yesterday, 11/4/2023).

I never receive orders unless I am inside an extremely high demand area so I quit driving for several months. This has become a Door Dash shit show and have you heard the manner these Walmart employees speak to us? In my area when I have had to return an order Walmart has refused to take the order back and treated me horribly

i was on Spark for over 2 yrs with almost 1000 deliveries. 4.8 rating out of 5. i hadnt had a speeding ticket in 25 yrs so when they recently did a background check on me the 1 ticket was on it. DEACTIVATED. sent email to appeal twice to DDI. i got the same blanket reason: due to the ticket. bs. Spark is train wreck anyway. too many problem. support DOES NOT give a damn about its drivers. period. 🎯

This is what I think I think someone has figured out a back door to the app remember they give access to third parties on the app therefore they're able to manipulate it remember everything is stored somewhere your email your phone number your text messages your phone calls your voice everything goes to a storage facility so what I think is someone figured it out and they don't know what to do that's why they keep f****** wrong with this app what they don't want to tell you is this app is like you said gone is no good no more someone corrupted it

This use to be my primary source of income I only used this app I use to make 200 a day now I could barely make 100 is sad I use to love this app all my metrics where green I had a 100 acceptance rate but with all these issues and low pay I went back to multi Apping and using 3 apps in order to make the 200 a day is so sad to see the best app go to from being the best to worst in a couple of months

Please, give this man a like and subscribe. Spark is officially trash in my market and almost not worth driving for them anymore. Now they are bundling 3 deliveries, and the pay may range from 15 dollars to 20 dollars for a 7-8 mile run. I live in the capital of traffic in the world, Los Angeles, should I explain more why driving longer here is a problem?

What I've seen in your example is that if no one picks it up at $13 it evntually goes back down to $8...If no one is taking it at $13 why the hell would they take it at $8 the 2nd time they see it!!

Cell signals affect the Spark apps reception. When I'm troubleshooting, I turn off/on airplane mode first. It forces your phone to reconnect to the tower. I'll get orders regularly when I do that. Just consider that there's factors other than the app should have troubleshooting also....

i agree with most of this except one thing. the pickers; the truth with pickers is that they have 30 seconds per item to get whats required of the order and the main roadblock that they have to deal with while doing their job is the terrible upkeep and organization of products within the store whether it be from customers doing what customers do best moving shit where they dont belong OR the stocking team where somebody isnt taking their job seriously and stocking things where they dont belong. There's also the problem where depending on the management decisions that often times the pricing labels are either incorrect, moved, or doesn't even exist on the store floor, mind you none of this is the job or responsibility of the pickers. Also, I promise you, if you see any of them standing around twiddling their thumbs most of the time its because either something has them backed up, or theyre waiting for a cart to be available for them to use. But generally, the entire retail store is a shit show, and all it takes is one asshole to cause a domino effect.

Cross contamination is real. Also, why do they not put items in bags? So many times the items are brought to the car just in the blue cartons and we need to smash these extra items in the other bags, which makes the whole delivery stupid

In my experience the shoppers where im at use WAYYYY too many bags. 25 items & 25 bags. Its so ridiculous & wasteful. I rebag so much shit. Yesterday there was ONE garlic bulb in a bag all its own. Stupid.

so they send me one drop for 75 items for $7 or $8 at a quarter past the hour, then I cant check in until 15 minutes before the next hour, then sit and wait 15 minutes for them to dispense the order then go deliver it(NOT). so I have spent more than an hour on one delivery for $7 bwahahaha FOOK U WALMART SPARK you people working for $5 an hour bwahahahaha

so all these other apps running just fine and CEO blames the independent drivers. that tells you all you need to know right there turnover for independent drivers is a LOT cheaper than employee turnover wait till he sees how that works out

Last week l was watching another RU-vid video talking about Walmart/Spark and the independent contract driver noticed a Walmart Sprinter van behind the store, when he picked up his order he asked the employee about it and was told they think Walmart is going to start using their own employees to do deliveries. I'm only passing along what was said in the video, l have no knowledge or information on whether this is true not, but he did show a picture of the Walmart Sprinter van so that was real, whether it was going to be for deliveries or not who knows. But even if this is true it could take awhile to implement this nationwide, and even then they'll still probably keep at least a percentage of independent contractors, kind of like Amazon, they have mostly company drivers but also Amazon Flex
