This is my favorite episode because it addresses one of the fatal flaws of being a Racer. You can run so hard, build a monster that cant be topped and a select few make it and become pros, but at the end of the day theyll always be someone, somewhere whos better than you. When it comes down to it and the price becomes too High you Will cash out because no matter how good your times are or how well you can drive, You Cant do it forever.
I'm pretty sure the point of his story was that you're not young forever. Racing will stop being the most important thing in life and you realize your life is now worth a lot more than a few hours of thrills. Who gives a flying fuck about cars and money for cars when you have a child to worry about? He needs to get back to his wife and baby, and thank his dear friend for gift. How did you see all 3 cars side-by-side and the flashbacks and somehow conclude it was about money and beating others?
It doesn't matter what car you drive or how fast it is, you can't outrun a mistake and you don't always get a second chance to fix it. Hiramoto's story-line is so powerful.
My favourite chapter of the entire anime. Loved Hiramoto's character, personality and way of life. An ordinary guy, mechanics genius, teared bewteen his passion and his love. The kind of guy anyone can be(come), and/or identify to... His BNR32 "Dragon" was also my favourite car. No design futilities, straight to the point. GTS-t wing for lower downforce, Nismo front bumper for cooling brakes and intercooler, and nothing else. Maybe the most potent car of the entire anime.
@@mariusmglestue1234 tohru didn't have a rear wing on his car. Plus this took place long before he got his car. Remember this anime was from 1990. I doubt tohru had his Miata that long
"I gave up my true happiness and chose a damn race car!" Yes... yes.. You and many others pal.. You and many others. Men everywhere will never give up their love for cars. Not even for a child. Some might see it as cruel, I see it as a drive and yearning so strong that nothing besides another car could ever satisfy it. You might be content for awhile but just like in this Anime it doesn't last. Enjoy that GT-R my friend.
Cruelty? I think most people will see it for what it is - stupidity. Because at some point, no matter how much horsepower you put into that engine, there ain't no running away from reality. It's called responsibility, and that is the true measure of a man.
Koichi: "The devil Z is responsible for ruining my life. I threw away my family and happiness away to beat it" Meanwhile Akio: *Just casually testing his car's top speed*
The more I watch.. the more I feel this anime is why we also have Initial D. The similarities to me are just unreal, I get the same satisfaction out of both shows.
@@sil8055 yeah and I actually learned some cool stuff but watching both of these anime. I wish there were more like these two. Supposed to be another manga by Initial D mangaka as well
So far this is the best episode, not just the character ark and the devil's Z resurrection but this 3 way (and spectator) race gotta be my favorite. I felt very tense from the stakes of this race and because there were 2 GTRs so double the chance of a car crashing.
Theres no chance he kept that GTR, he probably sell it 3 millions like last time and buy a regular, family car for Megumi and the baby. I'd prefer a Evo or WRX for a choice, but thats my opinion
In the manga, his boss bought it from him for 5 million yen. The boss used to race with Kitami tune car, too. He could appreciate the tuning Hiramoto did.
Even if it was, they wouldn't brother chasing them because japanese police cars are so under powered that they can't catch these tuners. They'd usually just get someone farther up to help.
Either the L28, single cam engine fitted with twin turbos, the Z432's engine, a dual cam engine fitted with twin turbos, or an RB26DETT, a monsterous dual cam engine with twin turbos
I can relate to this guy, he sacrificed his true happiness for a damm race car, l sacrificed my chances to get married , so l can afford to buy a damm , "Ferrari 488 Spider !!!" , what the hell , the marriage probably would of ended up in a divorce anyway !!! 😅
Nah you made a good call marriage divorces are rigged against man take care of that 488 my ultimate goal is to buy a Lamborghini mercy v12 manual transmission
That easy to answere. You use them, cause you want to let people know where you'll go next, so the chance is smaller, that someone will crash into you or will block you.
Haruda's Z31 conveniently blows its engine just as the Devil Z is restored? I was looking forward to that battle! What was the point of that character anyway?
If you wanted the Z to be fast as hellfire, lightened the Z to less than 1 ton, and modify the suspension to withstand the pressure and viscocity of the car's speed
