What's a really weird and hard spot to be in? When you've interacted with someone as an individual, and you've known them 15 years, and they've often been the exception to the rules, but then within the span of a couple years they start acting more like a category that you don't agree with, start shifting in that direction... It becomes disorienting, because I'm one instance they look like who you've always known them to be, but then you question if you really have known them.

So happy you’re posting again! Recently found your book Torn. I appreciate your approach of grace and charity. It’s hard to not get angry and preachy when someone is so obviously (to me) a bigot and not representative of Christ.
