He should have been jailed, and not let out to be a menace to society. This tragedy could have been avoided. My condolences to all involved - this is very sad.
Judges FOLLOW the laws. Politicians MAKE the laws that Judges follow. And ACTIVISTS drive and harass the Politicians INTO making those laws. So, who is really to blame?
Hello @@grandmufftwerkin9037 I think you're splitting hairs about the Judges. I seem to remember lots of Activists , during many Protests and Marches, crying the blues about Over Representation. THEY wanted the "existing" law changed. Well, congratulations! The law was Changed and here we are. Sometimes You gotta be careful for what you Wish for. Cheers
How many times was this guy released when he should have been in prison to serve his time? This is the type of crime where we should have the death penalty.
@@my3dviews Death penalty is immoral; the murder of children doesn't negate that. Never heard of the death penalty preventing others from commiting crimes. It's just a petty desire for revenge, not justice.
@DonnellOkafor-pw7zc victim blaming? Really? No one knows a monster until it's too late. I'm sure he was a master manipulator. Also, she is dead, so she obviously paid the price too.
@DonnellOkafor-pw7zc it's interesting that you think anyone is responsible for another's actions. She might have had some tough decisions to make. You are completely taking the blame off him and blaming the female victim. 🙄 I think I know why you would do that.
@DonnellOkafor-pw7zc You are 100% right!... Policies were not to blame... A mother's bad life choices were to blame. I'm a foreign woman, living in the west and notice women here stick together to avoid personal accountability.
So sad. Ladies, if you have kids, be VERY certain of your guy before you shack up with him. It's not just yourself who might be at risk. And who the eff kills a 2 month old?
Gladue report = weak sentencing with no accountability, racially based. Look at that animal Sanderson. He should never have seen the light of day Too be continued as there will be many more events like this taking place in the near future.
Our governments soft on crime and proud defender of criminals rights by allowing them bail policy are to blame for a large part of this. Judges afraid to go against what they know to be right are also heinous
So, how many of your friends have driven impaired and caused an accident. How many of them have gotten high or drunk and damaged something? Would you have kept them in jail for months or years before trial?
I went to the same school as Amanda. We never spoke, but I’d see her in the halls. She seemed like a shy kid, but you could tell she had a very sweet soul. My heart goes out to the families.
Bail exists so non-violent offenders can continue to support their families while they are waiting for trial. In this case, the Crown wanted him held, possibly so he could get mental health care. There was no record of family violence, so judge granted bail. Judge will regret that forever. You'll forget this story in a couple of months and find something else to gripe about.
@icantwiththis I don't know what to feel about that. As a survivor of domestic abuse, I disagree. But I also know the consequences of calling the police. Child welfare and increased intensity of abuse if you don't leave. It's so sad. We need more support for women. The shelters are always full.
Bail reform was passed in December. If the guy had been a violent offender of any kind, they could have held him. If there had been more mental health or rehab facilities, he might have been sent to one.
Up until he murdered his girlfriend and her family, he was a non-violent offender. Given his problems, he should have been placed in rehab or mental health facility, but we don't have enough of those. Should Scott Moe be in jail? He had a series of DUIs and was in an accident that killed a woman.
