Govt Mule performs Marshall Tucker's "Can't You See" at the Westville Music Bowl in New Haven CT on 4/30/21. Brought to you by Less Than Face Productions. Audio by Casey C.
I'll have to replay this for a while . It's going to take a little time to get it out of my system. I Have the volume wide open .Loved his version. Awesome ❤
Hard to find a vocalist that can growl the blues like Toy did when he let loose on this tune & you don't find many players that could come close to his finger (Thumb) style attack but Warren never disappoints no matter how many different times he's played the cover of one of the most well identified songs in 70s Rock . We miss Toy & that whole original band.
Mr. Haynes can cover any Songs he Wants he even cover's Tom Waits on his New album. He's gonna respect the Music and do it justice no matter who's song 🤙
Totally agree!! He can play anything from Marshall Tucker to Pink Floyd not only put his own perfect guitar spin on it but sing the fuck out of it. Warren is special.
What a masterful rendition.. It is wonderful to see musicians so in control of their instruments and songs. Not over-done, not under-done, just playing it like it's their own. Great post. Thanks. This hit the spot tonight.
I agree with your comment 100% and am the same way. I hate when people compare one artist or band to another (usually the one who did the original song) and then expect someone else to do it the EXACT same way! Music is meant to be interpreted by EACH person as they feel it❗️
I absolutely love 💕 this version of “can’t ya see”. Warren is amazing. I think toy and Tommy Caldwell are looking down on him with great pride. This song warms my heart. Timeless and never gets old ❤❤❤
Have seen Warren & Govt Mule... OUTSTANDING Group!!! He's been a member of Allman Bros Band.. Can hold his own with the best guitar players out there...The man has the CHOPS!!! Go see if you get the chance!!!
Discovered it in 1981. If it was being played on a juke box, I would have worn out the song by now. I like every version I've ever heard, This is special with Warren's beautiful Gibson sound!
My Daddy was a picker... well a part of him will always be with me the music lives on. That's Daddy in my little circle thingy. He and his band covered "Can't you see" as well. He always put his touches on covers as well. I have to agree with Mr Jimmy Page hahaha a sentence I never thought I'd and or type in my lifetime. You rock it brother. So well done just a pleasure for all the senses. Rock on! peace, Sharon Ann 💜

This was the first concert we went to during the whole COVID situation after being locked down for a year. While the floor was pretty full, it was limited seating so we has around 8-10 empty seats around us in all directions. Westfield Music Bowl is a very cool venue. Not a bad seat in the place.
The RRHOF doesn't deserve Warren His place is in the Musician's Hall Of Fame in Nashville. Joe Clarke would have been honored to induct him, but sadly....RIP.
My first show post Covid, drove 6+ hours up from MD to see who l think is the best guitarist today. They did not disappoint. I have the Sperry show poster hanging on my wall!!
