Warren Haynes performing @ Guitar Center's 2011 King of the Blues Finals with special guests Brad Whitford and Joe Bonamassa at the House of Blues in Los Angeles on September 1st 2011.
Dude Warren Haynes is just the man. Such a humble guy. When I was about 13 my dad took me to my first Allman Bros show and I was on the front row having the time of my life and Warren got me an Eat A Peach shirt and him and Dickey signed it and threw it right to me. Still one of my favorite players today and now I'm 33 years old.
i've hung with warren many times (mostly 99-04) and i've never seen a musician more willing to spend time with his fans. thats a very cool story - very typical warren. the dickey part makes it rare. he wasn't the nicest dude...
Whitford is a great guitar player. That Strat cuts right through. Bonamassa is really something as well. Man he can play. Gotta hand it to the Guitar Center sound guy. Well done.
One of the greatest strengths of Brad Whitford and Joe Perry is that they BOTH play Fenders and Gibsons. Like a great player like Joe Satriani is known for his Ibanez. Jimmy Page for his Les Paul. But Brad and Joe are uncanny, they can play either one perfectly well. Brad had that Fender stinging really good, and Joe B. screamed on that Les Paul. That's what I like, a display of both guitars. And Warren You're the man cause you brought it all together.
When are people gonna stop comparing one guitarist to another? Musicians that are famous are famous for a reason... someone likes what they do - you don't have to. Like what you like, listen to what you like and don't put people down for liking something else. And for what it's worth I Do play guitar Not that this makes my opinion more important than someone who does.
i personally am never going to stop comparing musicians, esp guitarists. allen woody compared musicians all the time. . i've annoyed warren haynes to his face trying to force him into a jimmy herring v eric johnson convo he wanted no part of (the convo was with a lesser known blues guitarist in new england who was sitting in that night on the encore). can't compare eric's super sterile technical metal playing to herring's soulful jam/jazz stuff but its still fun. do you dislike sports? does it make you uncomfortable that people talk about the best tennis player or basketball player ever? why care when ppl compare guitarists? we're always gonna do it................
Everyone likes certain players. It's subjective for the most part. They didn't get famous cause they suck! And there's so many just as good ones that don't even get famous. I can't say any bad about any of these on the video. Although I think Warren is lesser known outside the guitar community, but deserves more fame. He's able to sit in with anyone, anytime and find a place in the rythem and adds so much. He doesn't just stand around and wait for a solo. He doesn't walk on nobody, but he finds an empty spot and freaking nails it. Then rocks his solo when his turn rolls around but he shines in the background. But, he's no better than most he shares the stage with. I just think he's under rated is all. Again, it's all subjective. If everyone liked the same thing, they wouldn't need so many guitars or people to play them lol.
HOLY MOTHER!!! Brad (I already knew this) is absolutely amazing! Top notch players and singer as well! Joe...well if I had 1/2 his skill I'd not be an electrician!
warren haynes, local boy males good. asheville nc is where his from and he does so much for this area. every year we have what's call the warren haynes christmas jam. it starts at around 7 or 8pm and goes til 5am. he gets big names always. my brothers and I have made 6 and will continue going.
El blues es la interpretación de la manifestación del sentimiento de los grandes intérpretes de la música en todas sus dimensiones y sentimientos hoy en día existen grandes intérpretes y músicos de este estilo música
Warren Haynes is the Godfather! All 3 are masters in thier own styles and tones. It is hard to compare and say who is the best or as you put it the "slayer". Keep Jammin! Enjoy Life!
A year later Joe says, Hey Brad, you should come play on my album. Everyone needs to go buy Driving Towards the Daylight. It's an amazing album. I've been listening to it constantly since it came out 3 days ago
Whitford has the best tone here by far. Juicy, fat strat tone, so awesome! You can also hear where his son get's his vibrato and of course, JB just showing everyone how to do it.
What I love about the blues is that these dudes embrace the shit that life has to offer up and turn it into the grooviest funkiest music soulfull- talk about polishing a turd and coming up with a diamond.............
