Tonight's 21-0 run by the Warriors was the longest in a Finals game in the last 50 years! Stay up-to-date on news, live scores and stats with the NBA App:app.link.nba.com/-App22
Klay had so much better shot selection in the playoffs, like even when he missed they were good shots. I think he was just trying to get his shot fully back in the regular season and that's why he was forcing it, in hindsight it makes perfect sense.
@@R6_moyea also steph was on a bum knee and bogut and iggy were hurt that day. So barring 3 starters being hurt and harrison barnes missing everything all the time they gon win when draymond hits
This series felt close up until game 4 then it legit felt like a sweep going forward. Makes you realise that if the warriors didn't mess up in the fourth quarter of Game 1 this would have been a gentleman sweep and they would have closed this out in 5.
Poole scored 9 points from 3 threes, two incredibly tough ones to swing the momentum to the warriors and ended it with an assist to wiggins to complete the 21-0 run that essentially sealed the game for the warriors. Give that man credit.
@@AmericanPhyscho It was 3-2 for GSW so it was not must win. They could afford 1 loss but I suspect the Boston would have advantage in game 7 carried by momentum of game 6 win.
Warriors runs fill me up with the most joy in the world. Although we lost against the Raptors, I will never forget the 20-0 run we had. This one is a bit sweeter though with the win.
@@NealX_Gaming and they waved off kd, klay got hurt, steph got hurt, and kd got hurt toronto won off all luck and it started right on game 7 of that philly game
For real. The amount of competition in todays game is ridiculous and for him and the warriors to do this 4 times now...with all the other dudes competing!!! and now they proved they can do it without KD also. Unreal bro. Not a warriors fan but most def gotta show the love for their impressive runs
I'm right there with you on that one. Everyone was saying the Warriors would never win without Kevin Durant. Everyone except me. There were so few that liked the way Golden State was successful.
Rewatching this a month later and it still wows me. It really shows the highest competition in the game, just 5 minutes of bad plays and the game is over.
We shouldn’t trade him, giving up on him after one bad year would be a dumb decision by the front office, I hope we give him another chance and keep him, next year he will bounce back as well as the whole team and win one more ring, people think that last year was our last dance but no, it’s next year, the storylines of this current season is being all set up for us to suprise everyone again and go out on top. Like Tom Brady always says “you know what ring I like the best… the next one”
@@Grievous_ yeah , youre right we should give him a shot. But he needs too clear the air with draymond. If given the chance to stay, but i wont be surprised if he gets traded
Also pretty crazy how they called a foul on Grant Williams at 1:07. I mean let’s be honest, the only people that really watch this RU-vid video is warriors fans, because fans of every other franchise knows this game was rigged
Hey it was a 'checkbook win' ;).... like any win by any professional (and even some collegiate) sport team in any sport. In all seriousness, when the Ws turn on the defense and move the ball this well, they can't be beat.
[Summary of the 21-0 Drive] Starting score - 16 : 22 +2 : GPII missed corner 3 and grabbed his own rebound for an easy layup(2). +5 : Curry drew 3-4 in the paint and sent the ball to open Dray for corner 3. [ Curry assist] +8 : Curry drew 3 again in the paint on transition and pitched it to GPII who passed it back to Curry with a screen for ridiculous fading/falling 3ptr from Curry (Did I mention that he had to adjust his mouth-guard just before getting the ball back from GPII? What? it's essential for better aim) [ GPII assist] +11: Poole made a bank-shot 3 after a nice screen-assist from Draymond with a side-step. [ Draymond assist] [ End of 1st-Qtr ] +14: Draymond tipped a tough rebound to Poole after Wiggin's miss. Poole sank the catch-n-shoot 3 in rhythm despite a good contest. [ Draymond assist] +16: Klay brought up a quick transition. Horford chose to stop Klay's drive leaving Wiggins open. Klay sent a bounce-pass to Wiggins who swished the layup. [ Klay assist] [ C's time-out ] +19: Poole took another side-step 3 after another Dray's screen. (exactly like earlier but mirrored at the right elbow.) Horford and Brown (after fighting the screen) contested and Poole missed. Draymond hassled, grabbed the rebound and threw it back to Poole, who's now wide-open at the top of the arc. He sank the 3 this time. [ Draymond assist] +21: After another transition, Poole moved up the ball quickly and threw the bounce-pass to Wiggins. (2-on-1 on Horford again) Wiggins made the layup. [ Poole assist] [ C's time-out ] Ending score - 37 : 22 ------------ Summary of Contributions (Both Scoring and Assisting): 6 points by Curry. 13 by Poole. 9 by Dray. 4 by Wiggins. 5 by GPII. 2 by Klay. (Not counting defense, where Draymond, Wiggins, GPII and Klay had many good plays on that side)
amazing summary, but this line "Poole moved up the ball quickly and threw the bounce-pass to Wiggins. (2-on-1 on Horford again) Wiggins made the layup. [ Poole assist]" is wrong, it wasnt a bounce pass it didnt bounce it just went to wiggins, and wiggins didnt make the layup, it was a dunk. but who cares right? :) (not me obviously)
Draymond set a block for Poole, who scored a 3PT at 2:37. Not sure how you got that Draymond got an assist on this play? He didn't! You don't get assists for setting picks/screens...
I've loved this team since 2011, and what a ride! I believed in this roster so much, that 2 weeks before the pre-season, I placed a $1000 bet on the Warriors to win it all.... at 23-1. I collected $24,000 and I'm putting it towards buying a house. Love from Australia Dub Nation. Today we 🍾🥂🎉
I fell in love with this team way back in 2013, it was their first round match up against the Nuggets and I was like "Oh man, this duo will become a headache in the years to come." I guess I was wrong, they didn't just become a headache, they became a DOMINANT force.😅🔥
Yup. I been down since the Tim n Chris burger… it’s been rough. Just making the Offs was like winning a chip back then… now we’re spoiled with hardware!!! It’s great!!!
ah man, my friend had an accumulator w GSW to win the chip, Morant to win most improved, Jokic to win MVP ... and Milwaukee to win the East. he was one Khris Middleton injury away from an absolute bonanza :-/
i feel privaledged being a warriors fan and was able to watch 95% of their games this year.i appreciate this to the max.what a ride this was. i will never forget this.
Watching this clip is bittersweet. Everybody is talking about Curry, Green or Poole, but one of the guys that was on the floor for the entire 21-0 run was Gary Payton 2. People acting like that guy (GP2) is easy to replace, but I think he was a difference-maker for this championship run.
- Payton rebound assisting his own missed 3-pointer 🤣 - Wiggins with that gorgeous block on White, then Payton knocking it out of Williams' hands - Klay with all the clutch rebounds, just snatching the ball at the right time without over-doing the effort or flailing Warriors defense deserves so much love, not even to speak of the incredible 3-pointers and lay-ups offensively
That series of the Wiggins block >Payton steal >Poole 3 just shows how much more help Curry and co had in this finals compared to the 2 finals they lost (16 missing green, 19 missing klay and Kevin)
2 of those made threes were off offensive rebounds. That possession following the Curry three in the corner by White was terrible. It's basically just him dribbling the shot clock down and then driving to the rim. Frustrating to watch.
I mean they just won the NBA championship so yeah, I’d say so… that foul on Grant Williams at 1:07 was also pretty rigged *cough* I mean locked. Totally was a foul. Not like a bunch of phantom calls to help warriors or anything.
@@htownhungryhustle9611 nah GP is just slightly better than Donte because we’re kinda lacking defense rn but Donte makes up for it with his superior scoring in literally every aspect except for dunking.
Yes, it's the longest run in a Finals game in the last 50 years, but it's the longest run EVER in a "Finals-clinching" game. And against the top defense in the league no less.
Has nothing to do with experiences. If that was the case, this series would’ve been won by Golden state already. No, the warriors are simply playing way better basketball than Boston
@@danielnelson6903 uh it definitely has to do with experience. Having veteran players especially ones with deep playoff experience is important for any team, that’s why teams still make it a focus to obtain veteran players as added depth in the first place…
@@danielnelson6903 Agreed, but I also think the way the Warriors persevered through a deficit and fought their way to clinch the title and the Celtics didn't, shows their wisdom. Grit can be cultivated by experience imo
You cannot have a bunch of forwards trying to shoot the ball one-on-one. You can see the difference in offense with Warriors. Warriors set up their shooters. They rarely do it on their own. Celtics players talented but need a point guard to protect the ball, call the plays, and set up the shooters.
May be that would help, but they can't play Warrior ball better than the Warriors. Nobody can. All the flopping, crying hysterics and their fans chanting obscenities to opposing players has to go too.
@@ww2remembered983 big facts. I knew warriors were winning the chip against Boston because no team can out small ball the warriors. Warriors created winning small ball. Biggest threat was always Embiid or Ayton at best. Rest of the iso teams aren't beating the warriors either
The way this game started in game 6 is literally just the way I predicted it to be and that's how it's going to end tonight. This is my early Congrats to the Warriors on winning the NBA Championship🏆👏👏 Props to the Celtics tho they've had an amazing season great job 👏
I don't even know why the coach didn't use a time out early in the run and waited too late to take two in the second half. That was a very poor judgment.
@Final Form Franchise legacy eh? You mean the franchise that has won the most NBA titles ALL in ONE city? And not a bogus "championship" in the Bubble? Any 80's Celtics team, especially the 1986 Celtics who actually won home games (50-1) would have absolutely demolished this Warriors team. The truth is, the Celtics put an end to their own season by shitting their pants AT HOME in Game 4 that could have given them a commanding 3-1 series lead but just like ALL Celtics teams aside from the 2008 team, in the post Bird era, showed zero pride on their home court and because of that inexcusable loss, they truly deserved to lose this series. After winning Game 1 on the road, all they had to do is take care of business at home and they would be World Champions. BUT... when you play like trash in your home arena, series after series after series, you don't deserve to be called World Champions. If the current Celtics can't man up more consistently on their home floor then they need to be broken up. There is NO excuse for a team that talented to have such ineptitude at home.
@@keenakaur6314 man the majority of their championships came in the 60s. 95%, better yet 99% of RU-vidrs weren’t even alive then 😂😂 and the last chip they won was in 2008 get over it
The greatest dynasty led by Steph Curry, don’t mention the expansion era Bulls. Take the nostalgia glasses off and appreciate their greatness right now, don’t wait until they die for you to send your roses.
You can just feel & see the energy during that run from the Warriors. They wanted to end it in 6 & took the will out of the Cs.. It was over for them after that run no matter how hard they fought in the 4th!
Bro, I know GSW wants to solidify that Curry FMVP, but please give Poole more playing time. Man, he’s just entertaining to watch. He’s a scoring machine.
Yeah he is a beats but sometimes I don't like the way he plays. His teammates are begging for the ball but he is there on the court not passing the ball and driving and driving and then shoot. But anyways, he is good too.
I saw a lot of Draymond slander during these finals for some reason. But make no mistake, GW would not have won this championship without him. He really stepped up big time in those last two games to help seal it off
I’m not even a Warriors fan but they did incredible, they deserved to win 🏆 My perspective about Curry changed, I saw a humble and amazing teammate and glad he got MVP. Congrats 🎉
Thank you. Takes a strong mind to change one's opinions like that. And as a GSW fan for the last 35 years, since I was very very young, I love seeing Steph get the recognition I feel he deserves, but even more, I love seeing other people take as much delight in how he balls out as I do. What an incredible player the Chef is, and his career ain't over yet!!!
Warriors stand up!!!!!! We taking the championship home tonight!!!!!!! #GOLD BLOODED 4 LIFE!!!!!!! Somebody tell Shannon I'm giggling now holding up curry, klay Wiggins, gp2, and the Poole party Jersey's while doing it.
If anyone was skeptical about the Wiseman-Gary Payton II trade, this is all you gotta see. Look at all the rebounds, steals, and assists by GPII in this run.
1:50 Curry grabs the board, run the fast break, drive to the lane faking a layup, gives the ball to GP2, puts the mouthpiece in his mouth and nails 3 (three) pointer. The fact that he was able to put his mouthpiece during the play is amazing.
The block by wiggins at 2:24 huge and then the immediate steal that Gp2 did to keep the Warriors Momentum going since Curry hit the fade away 3 and Draymond Greens 3 in concession.
