Thoughts? Strength through length refers to the concept developing strength through longer ranges of motion - and is a founding principle in my training and programs. While some doubt strength through lengths effectiveness for hypertrophy, Arnold makes quite a strong case for it. It’s also been well documented that developing flexibility and training through a longer, pain free range of motion can enhance hypertrophy and injury prevention So if you need one more reason to include flexibility in your training - do it for Arnold To gain access to my custom app, programs, weekly giveaways, and Skool’s largest health & fitness community - join Movementgems Elite today! These exercises aren't about flexibility, but mobility. He was flexible because of how mobile his body was. Arnold's mechanics and technique for lifting were perfect.

😂 if I remember correctly I set up my camera so the water bottle is in the center of the shot, as it’s hard to know where true center is otherwise. The things I do to get you guys good footage 😎

How do you train for those lower dips? I messed my shoulder up doing those low dips so I keep it at 90

i used to be able to do a great pancake, but i spent two weeks on my ass for a holiday, like barely above ZERO movement, and when i went back to the gym, it took me over a month to work back up to my flexability, except for my right ham/glute. now when i stretch my right hamstring in the outward range for a pancake, either sitting or standing, it feels like my glute and hamstring are tearing apart from each other just under my "sit bone"

Arlond probably be the best idol for bodybuilding without going extreme. As he is still able to perform & stay active at his age. Not like most professionals.

It really depends Mike Metzner had a bunch of shit advice honestly. You cant just listen to the greats because even they can be wrong. Arnold still being in shape is a good showing that he was right.

How what Arnold was doing was a "Jefferson row"? absolutely no similarity, unless the footage was a representational one and he actually did a different row documented elsewhere.
@Movementgems
@Movementgems 2 месяца назад
The similarity is in the rounded spine. Orthodox rows are done with a neutral spine. But definitely agree - I am emphasizing hamstring flexibility in my row while Arnold is emphasizing strength. Same movement on different parts of the flexibility/ strength continuum. If you RU-vid “Arnold barbell row” you can see a better angle of him doing these rounded back rows
@b-sideplank
@b-sideplank 2 месяца назад
@@Movementgems But brother, the low back is staying relatively fixed in place/unmoved, even though it is rounded. The whole point of the JC on the other hand is flexion of the low back. I just saw another clip when searching for Arnold Barbell Row, as you suggested, titled 'T bar row'. That clip probably has more low back flexion.

So your saying Arnold trained to failure with full rom even changing exercises to get better rom and trains 6 days a week damn did he have it down and people ride Mike mentzer like half the things he said weren’t wrong not that he could have known
@paint3839

Arnold did a lot wrong too. 52 set workouts twice a day 6 days per week is not a great idea tbh

Did he overtrain? Probably. Was his form bad? Absolutely not, his form is nearly perfect, only thing he could do better is not bounce out the bottom of the movement
